NO
because my heart belongs to me, no one else.
my life belongs to odin....
why?... because i am not a christian, and i dont believe jesus to be anything more than a rebel or a revolutionary... not some saviour...
this is my opinion at least. take it or leave it...
and btw, in true christian style i expect to be attacked over this, even though the question SPECIFICALLY asked for my opinion as a non believer

Because the premise of Christianity is entirely lopsided in favor of the male of the species, and quite frankly the whole thing, to me, is ridiculous. Just as all the people who are going to give me a thumbs down think that Wicca is ridiculous or that I'm being led astray by the devil, I think Christianity is for people who want/need to be led, and I don't want/need to be led.
Plus, the whole religion was founded in the middle east two thousand years ago. My ancestors are Celtic, with a little bit of German thrown in, and I feel a deep spiritual connection with my Celtic heritage. Nothing in the Bible (and yes, I've read it) hits me on the same spiritual level as Wicca and Paganism. That feels like home to me. I have also always, since I was a child, felt a very, very deep connection to nature, and i've never quite been able to accept that Brighid, Isis and Apollo were just "myths".
Also, there is no Satan to be led away from, nor any hell to be saved from, so Jesus, though a fine gent, isn't really necessary to me.
Now, can you tell me why you won't think my reasons for NOT giving my heart to Jesus are as valid as why you HAVE given your heart to Jesus? And please, PLEASE don't say "because the Bible is the word of God". That's comparing apples to the oranges I've just laid out for you.

Heart-
Four chambered muscled whose sole purpose is to pump blood throughout the body.
Faith-
Something that we HOPE happens but cannot prove a thing.
Jesus-
Not born on December 25th, not born in Zero A.D
Actually born in March of 4 A.D.
This was the ONLY year the Roman Census was performed in the Palestine by the Emperor Augustus..... read the Bible, that is why Mary and Joseph were traveling to Nazareth).
Why on EARTH would I give my only life-giving organ to a person that most of humanity cannot even remember what day and year he was actually born on?
Makes you wonder what else in the collection of letters written decades AFTER the crucifixion were lost in time.
Matthew; written 15 years later
Mark; written 30 years later
Luke; written 50 years later
John; written 150 years later by someone who had never MET even one of the Apostles. Gospel of John was rejected by the Church as heresy because John died of an opium overdose and he was writing Revelations at the time.
Hmmmmmm..... kinda puts 'Revelations' into perspective don't it?
By the way, The Gospel of Timothy, the Gospel of Thomas, and the Gospel of Mary Magdalene were written much earlier and with more clarity of thought. All rejected in 325 A.D. because they referred to Jesus as a Prophet and Paul wanted Jesus to be "more divine"......
Did you know that Paul was named Saul?
Did you know that Paul never met Jesus?
Did you know that Paul was probably directly responsible for the Apostle Timothy's death?
Wow...... what a foundation to build your church upon.
Women were allowed to hold service and offer the sacrament until guess who came along?
Paul
After he came along, women were not even allowed to enter the church because Paul said all women were 'unclean'. It took centuries to erase the stain Paul left on the church, and it suffers from his heresy to this very day.
Mary Magdalene
How many women had a last name in the bible?
If they had a last name, it meant they were SOMEBODY.
Prostitutes back then would have not even had a first name.
Amazing what Paul accomplished, he turned Mary Magdalene, an Hebrew Aristocrat.... into a mere whore.....
Guess what ELSE was in the Gospels that were rejected?
The fact that Mary was not a whore.......

No, I believe we are all children of the Divine. No one is more important than another. I don't believe the bible is accurate as it was written by man. I believe the Churches that follow His word are not on the correct path. I believe the Divine is both male and female and there should be a God and Goddess. I believe if the meek wait around to inherit the Earth, there will be nothing worth left for them. And I believe the power of change is within me not some obscure Divine force.
I know I am Wiccan.

No.
No.
Why? Because I can't stand how so called "religious" use Jesus to promote hate and inequality. I try to emulate his teachings, but there's no way I'm going to join a bunch of hypocrites every Sunday morning!

I respect your religious beliefs. Truly, I do. But I have evolved beyond religious superstitions and embraced a new life. I now live by the guidance of reason and compassion. I conduct myself by ethical standards that aren't based on what people living thousands of years ago believed to be true.

No I won't. Jesus was a man. He is not God. Until proven otherwise, I'm not going to worship some dude. Sorry........... Maybe instead of condemning everyone on here, you should go read your bible and try to better yourself because honestly, you're a b*tch.

You have to understand what he represents.
He said "I am the way" meaning he is God's son, so he represent's God.
But the one he represents let him die in the most WICKED of ways.
Shows true God's love.
Why would anyone want ANYTHING to do with a being like that?
WHAT ARE YOU TO HIM IF HE LET HIS ONLY SON DIE?
Answer: You are nothing, or less than nothing in God's eyes.
Thats why.

You are a bit of repugnant. I won't address the question, b/c it's nonsense, but your name bothers me. There is no "war for the lord". Why create tension and animosity by declaring "war"? War against whom? Against me? What have I ever done to you?
