There is a stronger background check procedure on new and old immigrant's. Citizen's report more than ever before suspicions they have about immigrant's, especially those who are arab. The laws have not changed so much, just the careful eye of immigration, and the government. If we were to have another terrorist attack, by anyone, not just arabs, the USA government will have a lot to explain, and they don't want that! They will lose whatever faith the American people ever had in them, and there will assuredly be more wars on those that committed the act againt us.

It takes longer leaving and entering this country.I travel a lot on business and there seems to be tighter security.I don't think they have done much tho on our southern border to secure it in any way..The laws themselves I don't think have changed that much,we have good laws they just need to be enforced to the letter.I agree on the drivers license, needing to show more documentation to even renew.

They have changed a lot! The main differences is the disbanding of the INS and the creation of the USCIS which is controlled by the Department of Homeland Security. Title 8 US CODE: 1103 grants the Secretary of Homeland Security the power, and authority to enforce all laws relating to the immigration and naturalization of aliens, control and guard the boundaries and borders of the United States against the illegal entry of aliens and shall, in his discretion. He may require or authorize any employee of the Service or the Department of Justice to perform or exercise any of the powers, privileges, or duties conferred or imposed by this chapter or regulations issued there under upon any other employee of the Service. He is authorized to confer or impose upon any employee of the United States, with the consent of the head of the Department or other independent establishment under whose jurisdiction the employee is serving, any of the powers, privileges, or duties conferred or imposed by this chapter or regulations issued there under upon officers or employees of the Service.. He may, with the concurrence of the Secretary of State, establish offices of the Service in foreign countries; and, after consultation with the Secretary of State, he may, whenever in his judgment such action may be necessary to accomplish the purposes of this chapter, detail employees of the Service for duty in foreign countries.

Any of the employees in Homeland Security even foreign nations can all change laws, rules, and regulations.
