I got out of a relationship after 5 years. I was devastated and didn't think there was going to be anyone for me. I didn't want a relationship for a long time.
After about 2 years, I said out loud "God, send me the person I am going to spend the rest of my life with." And he did.
Two weeks later I had a date with someone who I wouldn't normally date. He didn't even call me to ask, he had my friend do it. I knew him casually through this mutual friend. And he was late for our first date. I was about to leave when he walked up with a bunch of roses...for me.
We hit it off from the first second and we have been together over 8 years, married 7. Not all sunshine times, much rain too. When you are ready to find someone, the person will come. And you will both be able to get through whatever bullshit life throws your way. Trust yourself.

you know i thought i needed a boyfriend really bad and i really tried to talk to this one dude who i thought wanted to be with me but really you don't need one to make you feel important. friends are always cool. plus you don't have to be tied down.
