Like on credit card checks, they charge a percentage of the check as a fee. I plain forgot how to do this. I feel so dumb. When I learned, there weren't personal calculaters. Could someone please tell me how to use the calculater to figure 3.99%, THANKS

Type in the amount of the check, then multiply it by "3.99" then click the "% key" that will give you the 3.99% interest you'll be paying. then just add it to your check amount.
example: $500 check is...
[500] [x] [3.99] [% key] this should equal $19.95
so $19.95 + 500 = $519.95

The way I do it mentally is, I take the one percent of the amount, then multiply that times the percentage I want. It's easier than it sounds.
Say you need the 4% of 500, take 5 (which is one percent of 500) then multiply by 4, 20 being the 4 percent of 500.

Lets say you get a dinner bill for $35.
To get the percentage you take 35 and you hit the "x" (multiply button) and then input the percentage you are looking to find like 10% of the bill for a tip. Then hit the % key and it will give to you.

Take your number ($1,000) and multiply it by the percentage (3.99% - move the decimal to .0399)

$1000 * .0399 = $39.99 would be the interest.

Now add the interest ($39.99) back to the principal amount ($1,000) and you get $1039.99
