I think in order to "start the fire of love", an initial physical attraction must happen. Keep in mind, this does not need to include sex. I know people married 50 years that were virgins until their wedding night.

Furthermore, there are other ways to be phsically intimate other than sex... such as holding hands, kidding, hugging, and just being in close proximity.

Physical relationship is important but not the most important thing. Here is why... beauty fades, you can only have so much sex, and hormones dwindle with time... but a true, deep, emotional, spiritual and mental relationship continues on past the grave. After a while, the heart stops careing what your s/o's face or body looks like. The heart only cares about what your s/o's heart looks like.

Before you get married, look at this list and set them in order of importance before you walk down the isle and sign that damn piece of paper from the state. Below, they are in an order of importance according to how I see them.... they may be slightly different to others

1. Mental attraction (do you work well together)
2. Emotional Attraction (is your need for each other equal... you cannot need someone emotionally more than they need you and visa versa)
4. Directional Compatabilty (are you goals and dreams similar)
5. Physical Attration (is the other person physically attrative to your eyes, touch, ears, smell, etc...)

I would have to say No.
What is important is love and mutual respect / honoring each other.
You will have plenty of time for the "physical" and trust me..there are none..no not any that are "bad in bed" so trying it before you buy it doesn't work and truthfully Will cause more problems then not.
It only takes one Sperm to create a "life" ask your self this... Am I a Man or honor and integrity? If I got her pregnant will I marry her out of honor and respect? or will I be a jerk and let her deal with it on her own? If I do marry her.. because of it, was she really the one or did I let my pecker decide one of life's most important questions?

Yes i do think there should be some type of physical affection before marriage. But i don't think that should be all your marriage should be based on. There is nothing wrong with kissing and hugging nobody said you had to go all the way.

Pity on those who don't value their life partners more than a car or a material to test first than buy. Physical relation before marriage will take you no where... its just a silly excuse to misuse your to be spouse's trust, if you say its mandatory to have sex to know each other properly. Marriage is not completely based on your sexual understanding, but on your spiritual compatibility. Keep defference between human and a beast.

Of course. Wasn't it something physical that attracted you to the person in the first place? Being physically intimate with your partner is important in any relationship, not sex all the time, but being physical and exploring one anthers body.

No, more important is true understanding of what marriage is, and true friendship, if one may say, with the other person; friendship is an important element of love

the answer is not in yahoo but in you, if you really love some person signing some piece of paper or tying a rope doesn't permit a physical relationship. n love you would have dedicated you soul to your lover and body is just a symbol of expressing your love..

Of course man, you are stuck with one person for 50 to 70 years!!! If you are not comparable sexually, you are stuck with a bad fish for a very long time. If you return it to the sea, it will cost you half of your net worth. So think it twice or four times before commiting that long. You wouldn't buy a new or used car before kicking the tires??????????????????????///

Yes, who wants to be with a rocking chair in the bed. That will actually strengthen the relationship. I went for 9 months one time before we did anything!
