I have completely changed the way I eat, nothing but healthy food, no eating after 7, and drinking nothing but water, with a glass or two of skim milk a day. I walk/jog 2 miles every night, and work out in the mornings. I have been doing this for a week and a half, not long I know..but I have GAINED 10 LBS...WHY???

First of all, congrats on the effot!

Second... you're not looking for weight loss. You're looking for body fat loss (usually inches around the waist, etc). If is entirely possible that you're picking up muscle mass that is offsetting fat loss. Instead of measuring pounds, perhaps you should measure inches where fat gathers (waist, hips, etc etc) to see how things are going.

Third, I hope you are using some sort of "healthy eating" guide. If you eat healthy foods, but in large quantities, then you're not getting the results you desire. I'd suggest buying a Weight Watchers book, as they seem to do as well as anyone in telling people how to eat, not as a "diet" but for the rest of their lives.

Fourth -- no sports drinks unless you're really needing them. Those are full of carbs for athletes, but the body burns those instead of your fat deposits!!

Fifth - get a coach. It might even be someone who went down teh road before you. Bonus points if you have an eating coach as well as a workout coach. After you've been coached for a few months then you might not need a coach.

Have you tried a cleanse? I've been trying exercise only for about 4 months and I only dropped 7 lbs. But with cleaning and exercising I lost 22 lbs in a month. I tried Isagenix 9 day cleanse. I'm going to do it again next month. My doctor recommended it to me for my weight loss. With a good cleanse you can lose up to 10 lbs in 9 days. And it's not just water weight. Just cleanse, eat healthy and exercise at least 1 hour 3 times a week. Even if it's just walking around the mall or the track. I'm now on month 2 and I've lost a total of 35lbs. Good luck.

its not all about what you eat, how much you eat is a big factor. increasing excersize tends to increase appetite. also always weigh up in the morn. at night you usually tend to gain water weight. you are prob drinking alot of water to compensate for your hunger. watch the cal intake and water. you will lose lbs overnight when you dont drink. so it may not be a true weight gain. To gain 10lbs of muscle from walking in 10 days is unheard off, so dont get your hopes up.

It could be the working out in the morning. Lifting weights builds muscles, and muscles are heavy.

Gee, you must have an obsession about food. Forget about it and you will see the difference
