At one time or another, every one of us succumbs to the common cold. The bravest, the strongest, the sweetest, the smartest - our virtues matter not to these viruses as they set about reducing us to coughing, sneezing shadows of our former selves.
Worse yet, there is no cure.Antibiotics, champs at knocking out bacterial infections, are down the count against cold viruses. So we sniffle on bravely, may take a cold pill or two,and hope the symptoms will disappear in the customary week or so.
But there's actually a lot more we can do to get through a cold more comfortably, say doctors who specialize in self-care medicine. Some remedies, they say,may even help us overcome a cold more quickly. Here are the best remedies the experts have to offer.
1 ) Take vitamin C.
2 ) Keep warm
3 ) Take a walk.
4 ) Feed a cold - lightly
5 ) Sip chicken soup.
6 ) Load up on water, juice and tea.
7 ) Don't smoke.
8 ) Gargle throat with salt water.
9 ) Sip a hot toddy.
10) Take steaming shower.
11) Apply a lubricating layer of petroleum jelly around and slightly inside your nostrils with a cotton swab to relive your nose by blowing.
12) Medicate at night with Nyquil and Contac - plus alcohol.
NO FLU WITH THIS WILL FOLLOW.

You didn't catch something from sweeping the floor...at least not yet. There is approximately a 2 week incubation time, that is to say it takes two weekd from when you first become infected till when you show symptoms of a cold.

I would like to add to the list above, vitamin D - approx 20ug (micro-grams) for the next few days. Its 3 times above the RDA, but it is still safe and very good for helping to clear up illness

Sounds like a cold, u need to get some airborne vitamins at your local store.
U could of caught a cold but not from the cold air, u catch it from germs mostly inside air.
Get some vicks and rub on chest tonight and fill an empty drink bottle with warm water and put on chest.
Get well before christmas.

Sounds like a bad cold. Bed rest, clear fluids are best. You can take some otc cold remedies if you think they'll help. Chicken soup really is good for you when you have a cold (not just an old wives' tale). Hope you feel better!

I really think you might be experiencing some bronchitis I really suggest you take yourself to the Doctor a.s.a.p ! Mean time some old Mexican Heritage advice, put some vaporub on a piece of newspaper and pass it thru the stove just enough warm to place in the chest right away keep all night placed in your chest and don't attempt to shower til next day~ Good Luck

cold exposure doesnt cause infection. Sounds like possibly acute bronchitis, viral upper resp infection. Plenty of fluids, rest, NSAIDs for the pain, otc cough stuff.

Hmm... I don't think I know any condition that could cause that. Bronchitis creates mucus and coughing, but it doesn't come around because of food. I don't know what to tell you.
