If it is a recent death, the public library can help you find it. If it's not recent the librarian can give you suggestions on where to find it.

This may depend on whether the person is a relative of your's or not. Not all places will give out information to someone who is not a relative about a more recent death.
Some places will not give out information to the general public about a death unless it is 50 years old, if you are not involved with a will, claim on the estate, or a relative. Some places will not give the information to a live in partner (not married or homosexual.)
Another place to find out about someone's death is check the newspapers for an obituary. If you have any clue where they may be buried check the cemetery. If you know what church, temple, mosque or other organizations the person may have belong to you may find someone who knew him or her and can give you information.

It depends on where you live, and when the person died. If you don't know WHERE the person died, your first step should be to search the Social Security Death Index, if you are in the US.

This will usually tell you where the person was living at the time of death. Then you can follow up with whatever agency maintains the vital statistics records (usually there is a State office that handles that.)

I am not for sure ,but you can go to the Court House and ask them. That is where most of ,all kinds of records are at, and if not there ,They'll know how to find them .
