The sound on the Wave Radio is awesome, but it's really really expensive, so unless you have a lot of money and a really discerning ear, you don't need to drop $500 on a radio.

I have no opinion as to the actual sound quality of the Bose Wave radio vs. the quality of other systems. I find that I typically can't usually tell the difference between systems until I listen to them side by side, so I don't appreciate the difference when I'm listening to the system I have all by itself. However, I used to do consulting work with Bose, and I was amazed while I worked there that the engineers there took pride in saying that other companies made systems that sounded equally good but that Bose got the premium pricing just because of the Bose name. That really made me wonder about the sound quality difference that the company purports to offer.

Cambridge Soundworks makes a similar product that sounds as good to me. It costs substantially less. I have the model 88 it sounds great.

Absolutely NOT. For the same price you can buy components that will blow away that little piece of junk.
