yes and no.
Paypal protects your payment ergardless of origin of funds so it can be anything. BUT your CC company also offer you protection so you are covered twice.
All this depends on your debit/credit card terms adn conditions.
cheers

No...it will have the coverage as set forth by the bank who issued the debit card and in some cases this can be even greater protection than a standard credit card.
Here is some additional info. Hope this helps.

Go into your "My Ebay" then scroll down to items that you have won. Look next to the item in question and there should be a £ or $ symbol next to it. If this is coloured blue then you have already paid it, if it's white then you have not paid for it. Sometimes it does take a while for it to update once a payment is made and occasionally, depending on how you made the payment, it won't go blue at all. Best thing to do is log into your paypal and see if the payment has been taken. If it has don't worry - the seller will have received it. If they haven't they will contact you.

I use a credit card because you don't have to wait to get your money back like a debit card, its not your money!

items bourght by credit card are covered by the credit card company's insurance. debitr card payments come straight out of your bank account so have no "3rd party" who is insuring themselves and you.
