Guys,

Can you be physically attracted to someone without being sexually attracted to them?

Meaning, for example, does it ever happen to where you think a woman is beautiful but you don't want to sleep with her?

Why does it matter if a man has a stray sexual thought about an attractive woman? That part is just nature working. However, there is a big gulf between thoughts and actions. A mature man will find many women attractive who he would not even consider actually sleeping with. We're not animals, but instead have the free will to conquer our desires with our minds.

Hi Socks,
To answer your question honestly I must warn you that many men will not. Not even under the relative safety on cyber space do we reveal our secrets of man so easily. Plus others just are not honest with themselves.
Love can harness those desires but deny it or not they are there.
I have already noticed the pansy answers you have already received. Fooey!!
Men want to sleep with any and every attractive woman they see. It never stops but we (some) learn to control it.
You are attractive and my thoughts instantly wandered as i gazed upon your image.
In the supermarket we dream of screwing every hottie that walks the aisles.
That is not to mean we would screw every lady we meet but the thoughts are there.
So yes, we can pretend and just say we admire the feminine form blah blah blah but the best way to admire it is as your back arches while we grab your hips and drive it home, or the breasts as they bounce above us while you assume control.
But make no mistake, you are being sized up every day, every evening, by some man somewhere.

YES!!!!
I have found many women attractive in many ways other then sexually. Some are now my dearest friends.
As is the nature of men, I have thought, " Hmm; I wonder what sex would be like with a this one or that one?" however... Out of respect for the woman (and friendship) I haven't acted on that thought.
Some Women I find attractive because she is smart, some fun to be around, others because we have many common interest, and still others... because when I'm around them/her, I feel a sense of wonderment and electrical energy.
It's funny... I tend to have better relationships with the women I remain only friends with, when sex comes into play, things become confused and harder to maintain the friendship.
I hope my answer helps? if you have any other questions or need more info from me... I offer first my poetry link, there I have many poems written about love and about friendships...go to: http://www.lovestories.com/member.php?uname=chrywizard
You can also send me a comment from any poem, and I'll always respond. Just mention you are the person who had a question on yahoo answers... Paul

No.. I don't think so.. though in rare cases you can be sexually attracted to them without as much physical attraction! But in general, the two go hand in hand.

Not a guy, but I do have an answer...........I was seeing this one guy for a couple months. We would sit in the parking lot after work, and talk for a couple hours. Everytime I brought the topic of sex, he would avoid it. He said that he didn't want to, because he didn't want what we had to be affected. Granted that I later found out he was married, but I still think it's possible. It won't happen very often, but it happens.

Ha, that's a trick question!! I think it is hard for a man to be physically attracted to a woman without a thought going thru his mind at least once.

Sure, this is VERY common for me. I think there can be very beautiful women, but I don't think about anything more in a sexual way. Just, wow, that's a gorgeous lady!

The same can go of men- I can tell a good looking guy but not be into him. That sounds gay, but it's true.

Yes. I have met women that are extremely beautiful but not sexy. They have the perfect bodies, clothes, and makeup but then they remind you of an aunt or something. However, sometimes I run into women who are not beautiful per se but sexuality oozes out of everything they do. Those are the women I love to have sex with.

Yes. But, eventually sex will become a part of the attraction. We are human and it's in our nature to be sexual. The question is... can sex "not be" the priority in the relationship.
