In the absence of your CD...
As PC boots up... Hit the F8 key over and over till it asks you about botting to command prompt.\
Select that.
At the C:\> prompt, type...
FORMAT C: /s
That'll format it and let it reboot at least.
(This all depends on your version of Windows of course... )

well you need to have a boot disk!then you insert the boot disk on the floppy drive then you can choose 1. with CDRom support if you put the windows CD on the CD ROM then 2. without CD ROM support, well probably you choose #2 then when A:\ prompt appears you need to type FORMAT C: then all of your data will be lost are you sure you want to proceed Y or N, then type Y. Put the Windows CD in your CD drive
Boot the computer
Start the Windows install
After you agree to the license, it will offer to formt the hard drive for you

Get the XP CD - put it in the CD-Rom, it will start up, and will reinstall windows with an option to completely format your drive.
Careful though - you WILL lose all the data!
