I sprayed mine with 100% citrus spray. Cat's don't like citrus.

We have many cats at my house and some are more frisky than others. We built a two and a half foot tall fence. it has three sides all with hinges so when we put the tree in the corner the fence goes all the way around. we made it look like a white picket fence with the pickets colse enough together to see in under the tree but to keep the cats out. It is also a great plase to hang stockings.

We hung a few of our cats favorite toys in the corner...and when he looks like he's going to run up the middle we distract him....sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't....best i can come up with is take the tree down...lol...sorry...if you figure it out let me know.....lol

When you catch them in the tree, pick them up and throw them as hard as you can into the wall. That will teach those pesky cats a lesson. I do it all the time and it really works. The only thing you have to watch out for is you might put a hole in your Sheetrock. I prefer a brick wall.
