'Narrow Mindedness' or the 'one tract / track mind' or call it ' the closed mind' is not only the greatest hindrance to ones spiritual growth but is also the greatest threat to peace on earth. Such an attitude is what you can call 'blind belief' and it is the corner stone of all fundamentalist and terrorist movements on this earth.
'Spirituality' goes beyond the boundaries laid down by religious beliefs and principles and provides for the holistic understanding of the 'Almighty'

No, I think the greatest hindrance to spiritual growth is its conflict with population growth.
Narrow mindedness is healthy as long as you can do a good job of explaining yourself. If your mind is too open you're just being redundant

open-mindedness only means that either one has not decided what they believe (not a bad thing) or that they have no real convictions (a very bad thing). And that condition (especially the latter) is certainly a hindrance to spiritual growth.

It is how a religion is interpreted that matters. If one is spiritual, then the meaning within a good religion becomes the LIGHT of LIFE!
