My daughter was playing in one of those indoor play areas at the mall in Paradise Valley. When I went to get her so we could leave she had a big brown stain on her shirt. It kind of looked like chocolate but I couldn't tell what it was for sure so I licked it.
Well, it wasn't chocolate. It was some kid's poop. Could I have just contracted Hep A?

That is so gross!!! Why would you lick it off? Why not just wet a napkin and wipe it off? Yes, you could have just contracted a number of diseases, Hep A being one of them.

A number of diseases are transmitted via the fecal-oral route (Hepatitis A is one of them) and you could be at risk of contracting them. There is a preventive treatment for Hepatitis A that will stop you from contracting it even if you're exposed to it. You should go to a doctor or health department to receive this treatment.

Yes, or a lot of other things, like e.coli. Take yourself and your daughter to the doctor, and stop licking strange brown stains! Jeez - you have a kid and you lick brown spots??

Why didn't yo just smell it, that isn't as gross as licking it. Yuck.
Hep A is transmitted by fecal to oral route, through blood or sexual contact. Get tested of you are worried.

Why did you lick it? Didn't you smell it first? If the kid had hepatitis A, you could get it.

Why would you lick your kid's clothing for any reason, after they were playing in a public play area?

This has GOT to be a bogus post...surely no one is that foolish.

That's gross! I would call your doctor and make an appointment... for perhaps why you would lick something random off your child's shirt?
