Well a 3.5 is pretty nice.......however if your parents didn't go to college or only went to average schools, or went to the ivy league then they are going to have high expectations no matter what. They either want you to measure up or have something better than they did!=/ I know this isn't fun, but my parents are the same way my gpa is about a 3.4 though........and don't sound quite so strict as yours do. If they think you are stupid just ignore them, that is unless you are only taking really easy classes that aren't honors, ap, or college bound. If you are taking these courses than sit down have a talk and tell them that high school isn't a load of fun always and just to ease off and let you have some fun........or else you might be headed for an outburst of anger of mini-melt down. That should get their attn. Also, work out a way that you can play video games and continue to do well in school, the smartest person in my grade plays video games and listens to music at least two hours a night, and he's got a 4.0 and is a huge brain in chem and physics=)
Good luck, hope the force is with you-:)

parents, what can i say? so many things have changed since they were your age....and it's easy to say that they do not play video games...so the information they have on the games comes from sources on t.v. and it's all bad...so to protect you ---no games. the other side to this is.....3.5 gpa, that's very good, but, like most of the young.....you may be lacking in common sense, you can be book smart and still lack in common sense, and parents, gosh, can't tell the difference, they want you to use your brain, to learn. and overcome the common sense thing....and their thinking is: video games creates zombies, couch potatoes, laziness....ect....
so, your already book smart.....now it's time to get a plan of action you cannot fight your parents on this, you have already talked about it....now there is something your missing.....rethink go over all the conversations, and replan....

Well they are your parents and since you are living under their roof and have to follow their rules, then I guess you need to live with it. Until you turn 18 and move out, you are pretty much stuck following their rules.

Maybe they think you are able to do better. Ya know, if you really think they are thinking you are stupid, prove them wrong. Start really trying to get up that GPA and then show them that you can do it.

The first thing you need to do to convince them you are not stupid is to learn to spell, or at least use spell check. Maybe if you spent a little more time on learning you would go up from 3.5. You do not have the right to play video games, it is a privilege that needs to be earned.
