praise him and dont be harsh. in time he will come around.
also (i know this will sound funny) but he might need to be introduced. pick him up, take him over to roommate and have her pet him while ur holding him (praise him the whole time). this helped my cat stop being afraid of some ppl and she even peed in the floor bc of some ppl before i introduced her (peeing stopped after formal introduction)
ur roomie might get some good food or treats and feed ur cat every now and then (my boyfriend did that with my cat and now she loves him to death....she comes running to rub up against him whenever he comes in my apt)

There is alot of good advice here but I highly recommend Feliway for it helps calm the cat and just let the cat get used to the friend but don't force the cat on the friend.
Letting the friend feed the cat will help and have him offer treats from a distance would be good too.

Have her leave an article of clothing in each room of the house for a week. This will get your cat used to the new roomates scent Cats are extremely teritorial so it takes a while for them to accept people or other pets. Catnip also helps, have the housemate be the one who gives it to your cat, this will help create a bond and the cat will associate your housemate with good things

Put your cat in a room with out a window first. Let him adjust to the smell of you friend.
My aunt is a vet, so she brings a lot of sick/injured cats to her home to watch. There are a couple that are really scared cats. But the longer I stayed with her, they began to adjust to me and were soon coming up to me for some love.
Have your friend carry some cat treats with her. This will make the cat more easy about being around her. He will associate your friend with something good.

Aw - give your cat time. It's not been long. My cat's a nosey parker, but even he needs time to get used to new people. I think if you're patient (and as the weather gets colder) he'll warm up to her!

Feliway. Helped all my cats adjust quite easily. I foster cats a lot, and so it's nice to have all of them calm when they meet.

Feliway - its a calming agent bought in Petco that you plug into your outlet, (like a night light) and its only susceptible to pets, not humans, It is used as a calming agent to adjust to stressful situations but does not in any way harm your pet.

did you properly introduce the cat to your friend? kitty may think her position in the family has been usurped by youir friend--hold kitty, talk softly to her, intro her to your friend, let kitty know she is always your kitty and very special--in time they will become friends. takes kitty a little while to overcome change--they are a rigid critter and take a long time to assimilate changes to their world.
have your friend become auntie--you are momms--have your friend feed kitty and cuddle kitty and get to know her--
after time of sleeping in kitty's house, your friend will become part of kitty's family, also.
be patient and enjoy kitty
