Seems like they have a new approach to a common problem.

So after raiding the karaoke bars, saunas and barbershops where prostitutes often ply their trade, police officers in the southern Chinese boomtown paraded about 100 women and their alleged johns in the street, using loudspeakers to read out their names and the misdeeds they were accused of committing. News photographers snapped away while thousands of residents lined up to take in the show.

Hmmmm...I like that. I think shaving their heads would be the ultimate touch. Makes 'em easily identifiable too.

Oh yes, that's what we are looking for...another way to embarrass working women. This is not a good thing, in no way shape or form. This is bad news people. If you ask me, to do this in the U.S. would be a travesty and against damn-near everything I hold dear about this country. You know that whole cruel and unusual punishment clause in that little document we like to call the Constitution, well I would think this violates or at least aggravates said clause. You cannot put people through that especially for a misdemeanor crime.
Also, it boggles my mind as to why women of the night are not permitted to practice their trade, but I guess its one of those things we as Americans choose to care about for some screwed up reason or another. I say let 'em work.

I know you will hate my answer, but I have to say it anyway. I am in favor of county or state controlled leagalized prostitution, regulated and health-inspected at the brothel owners' expense. The prostitutes win and so do the customers. It is cleaner, there are simply less criminals involved.

I remember hearing a story kind of like this a while ago. It ended in something like this: "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

Shaming people will never stop them from doing anything. Do you think having a list of people on the nightly news who are drug addicts will make them quit? This is not the way to fix society's problems.
