You are misinterpreting their behavior. Love is a complex emotion and probably way beyond the abilities of a cat. It's called anthropomorphism...attributing human traits to non human beings. Cats are all about the food.

Cats do love you. Not just because you give them food either.
Cats kneed on you when they are really happy, its how they show their emotions, also with grooming you. Same with purring and rubbing. There are some big differences with how dogs and cats show emotions, but I do assure you that cats can love you.
I had a cat that became accustomed to the sound of my car, so when I pulled up he was at the door waiting for me.

Is that a question/ yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh
every animal has emotions but have different ways of showing. Remember they are different, cats and dogs. Dogs are very dependant, cats can have fun alone too but dogs dont like to be. Cats are also vulnerable but very noble. I used to have a cat who used to wait a couple of streets from home when I came out of school, he would walk with me every day. He also used to get angry when I was with my bpyfriend and once atackt him. It also deppends if you have a male or female. When he got sick he did not died like the dr said but did a few weeks later, he said that dogs and cats can last very long when they love their owners and wont let go.

My cats run to me all the time w/o wanting food. I have one who comes and sits in my lap the same time every night for what I call his cuddle session. I think cats are no different than dogs in the love department.

You actually answered your own question. Cats do love you because they run to you when they want food or attention. My cat loves me because I give him both. I have dogs and they run to me too, but they usually want food or attention.

I have a cat also and this is very hard to answear, because i really do love cats no matter what..:)).Cats are very sensitive pets,if u dont pay enought attention to her she can become a little depressive..Never keep your cat locked somewhere or to leave her alone too much, she will defenetly become agressive. In my opinion, they are little selfish and that's why they appear they dont love us..but THEY DO..:))

depends upon how the human bonds with the kitty--if you bond closely, the kitty will do things --tricks and such--and play with you and get close because you are the momms---they do love you-not just need the food. cats are very social--you become part of the family and are their family--they protect you from home invaders--small ones--other animals, bugs, thingies---and they make sure the noises are always the right noises--become very upset if something is out of plae--or something strange is inside the home--they are very social.
they talk to you--tell yo what happened in their dau--and what went on while yo were away.

I know that my cats actually love me!! And it is not because they want food, since they have food down and available to them 24/7. Nothing like the face of your kitty snuggling against yours! I love it!

To answer this question honestly, you need to look at how cats treat the people in the home who DO NOT FEED them.
Sometimes they love them very very much. Sometimes they don't like them at all. Cats know when you are being insincere with your affection and interest.
Case closed!
