Why is it that everytime something good happens in the world, it is refered to as a "miracle" (AKA direct involvment of God/God's will).

However, when a human does terrible things it is just "Free Will"
(AKA God had nothing to do with it?)

Am I getting this wrong, or is it that God ONLY influences good actions?
If he can be seen as the reason for good actions, is he not responsible for the bad ones as well?

Good question and well written in a nuetral unbiased perspective, my complements.

Evils works continuously to kill, steal and destroy as much and as often as possible. God works to restrain evil and use good men to defeat the evil in this world.
Its shown in this saying: "Evil advances where good men do nothing"
A notable person said as much with "When good negotiates with evil, evil always wins."
The confusion in this comes in that God intends to work out for good every act of evil against us.
So God uses the evil acts that were meant to destroy but to better us instead.

In the world, God's presence can be seen as "restraining the tide of evil" or the fact that where ever a disaster is good people act.

Your question could have led me into a thesis, but I hope this is not overly lengthy.

God created us with free will. That is why from the beginning of time, we have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God. There is no one good apart from God. God can change us and make us new, but only through the shed blood of Christ. God uses evil, or bad actions, however He is not the creator of evil. Think about it- if God created us to be puppets, what good would that be?
God allows "bad" in our lives for many reasons- the main reason I believe is to draw us to Himself, and make us realize even more that the evil in the world one day will be done away with when Jesus returns to make ALL THINGS RIGHT!!

It's all part of the lie to fit the belief. Civilizations have written stories throughout time with various characters to explain the unexplainable to give it purpose. The bible also has been written, changed or parts omitted to fit the message that those who wish to promote it want to project. If Moses were alive today he'd be considered crazy and a bum, a pregnant virgin, I think you see some of those on Jerry Spinger, Incest was OK in the beginning, no mention of dinasaurs Oh but they have an answer for everything. After all they've had 2000 years to work out the story line.

When God made the world, Adam and Eve everything was perfect. We were given free will to make choices. When Adam and Eve chose to disobey God that's when sin came into the world. When we make choices, good or bad we suffer the consequences of these choices.

Why is there evil and suffering in the world?
The question implies that if a good God exists, then evil shouldn't because God, being all powerful, should stop it.
We need to ask and answer two questions. First, what is evil? It is that which is against God. It is anything morally bad or wrong. It is injurious, depraved, wicked. Some acceptable examples might be murder, rape, stealing, lying, and cheating. Second, if we want God to stop evil, do we want Him to stop all evil, or just some of it? In other words, if just some of it, then why? If He were to stop only part of the evil, then we would still be asking the question, "Why is there evil in the world?"
Let's suppose that someone was about to commit murder. God would have to stop him, maybe whisper in his ear, or if that didn't work, do something a little more drastic, like have something fall on him, or stop his heart, or make his hands suddenly fall off. Anyway, God would have to do something.
What if somebody wanted to steal? God would have to stop him too, right? Undoubtedly, God's imagination would permit a more practical method than I have suggested, but the end results would be the same.
What about lying? If someone were to tell a lie, then to be consistent wouldn't you want God right there to stop that person from lying? After all, He couldn't let any evil occur, could He?
Let's take it a step further. Suppose someone thought something evil. Then, of course, God would have to step in and prevent him from thinking anything bad at all, right? The end result would be that God could not allow anyone to think freely. Since everyone thinks, and no one thinks only pure thoughts, God would be pretty busy, and we wouldn't be able to think. Anyway, at what point do we stop - at the murder level, stealing level, lying level, or thinking level? As your question implies, if you want God to stop evil, you would have to be consistent and want Him to do it everywhere all the time, not just pick and choose. It wouldn't work.
Evil is in this world partly because we give it its place but ultimately because God, in His sovereignty, permits it and keeps it under His control.
Then you might say, "Couldn't He just make us perfect and that way we wouldn't sin?" He already did that. He made a perfect angel, Satan, but he sinned. He made a perfect man, Adam, and he sinned. He made a perfect woman, Eve, and she sinned. God knows what He is doing. He made us the way we are for a purpose. We don't fully understand that purpose, but He does.
God is sovereign; He has the right to do as He wishes. He has the right to permit evil for accomplishing His ultimate will. How can He do that? Simple, look at the Cross. It was by evil means that men lied and crucified Jesus. Yet God in His infinite wisdom used this evil for good. It was on the Cross that Jesus bore our sins in His body (1 Peter. 2:24) and it is because of the Cross that we can have forgiveness of sins.
Consider the biblical example of Joseph in the Old Testament. He was sold into slavery by his brothers. Though they meant it for evil, God meant it for good (Gen. 50:20). God is so great that nothing happens without His permission, and in that permission His ultimate plan unfolds. In His plan He is able to use for good what man intends for evil. God is in control.

That's the nature of God. All good comes from God. No bad comes from God. Without God there would be no good, or anything else. Yes, freewill explains a lot of it. God does not keep us from sinning.

You are very wrong.

There is no God is influence any action!

There is not one good thing that this so called God has done in human history that humans had no part in! Equally there is not one evil thing that has happened in all of human history that humans had no part in!
Natural disasters can not be called evil since nature doesn't give any thought as to who is effected by this or that storm. Nature does not have a consciousness! Nature can't be out to screw you over or kill you! These are human qualities that can not be attributed to nature!

Face reality we have yet to see this so called God lift one finger to help one starving child! Or to protect a woman from being raped, or stop a priest from molesting alter boys! THIS FANTASY GOD DOES NOTHING TO HELP US!
THIS IS BECAUSE HE IS NO MORE REAL THEN SUPERMAN!

Yep, you are getting it wrong. God wants ONLY good for His children. But, because He does love us, He gave us free will. It is OUR obstinacy which causes us to use free will to do terrible things. But, the good news is, Jesus will be returning soon and all that will come to an end, as He establishes His kingdom here on earth. Merry Christmas.

It's a kinda tough concept to grasp, but when you do, it's really cool...
God is perfect. He can do no wrong. The best thing you can do is to bring God glory. He created the universe, and then became as one of his creations, so that he could die a brutal death, so that we could be forgiven of our sins and have eternal life. If ANYone is ever deserving of honor and glory, He is.
Sin being in the world makes it so that God's glory can be displayed even more through how he loves us and died for us.

It's all about God's glory.

No, you have got it right.

God is the source of all GOOD things.

He created the world, "good". Man messed it up by going against God and instead believing the words of the source of evil, the devil. Most people still believe the devil who says that God is trying to cheat them out of "good" things. But, in truth, God is trying to keep us in and empower us to do "good"

Gen 1:28-31

28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground--everything that has the breath of life in it--I give every green plant for food." And it was so.
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning--the sixth day.
(from New International Version)

James 1:17-18
17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
(from New International Version)

The lie of the devil is constant and he always starts with questioning God's
"good " will towards us. So who are you going to believe?

Gen 3:1-5
3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"

2 The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'"

4 "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. 5 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
(from New International Version)

What about choice C? No God, no Free Will? Ever think that everything we do is predetermined, and we can't do jack about it? It sucks to think about, but much like God and Free Will, you can't disprove that manifest destiny exists. Everything you do, have done, or will do was written in the stars billions of years ago. heartbreaking, no?
