Positive Mono test and a negative EBV screen?? Why when there should be numbers for the EBV. Dont understand?

9 year old feeling ill for about 4 weeks, positive mono test with a negative EBV screen. Immunologist answers welcome!! please explain.

the mono test is an insnsitive screen. false positives are common

Sounds like some kind of lab error. Probably need to retest.
