Is it possible to disown one son and not the other? One of my brother's friend's dad's abused him and he said something to his mom, who blew a gasket and said he was a liar, a whore and a few other things. Now he's at children's service's because she (or he) refuses to do anything with him.

You know what else is stupid? Their other son is into drugs and drinking. Can't the father be sentanced in jail for abuse?!

I imagine that children's services is presently investigating this situation. It is difficult to go thru the process in it's entirety. The courts tie the hands of children's services, the lawmakers have not helped either. The SAD THING is that the BOY probably believes that he is the one at fault in this. His mother evidentally is not using her head either. One of the relatives could really help by taking in both boys at least for the holiday season. If a close relative is not available then a close friend should help out in this way. The drug using son may have been abused also causing part of that problem. As a society, we need to do more for OUR CHILDREN!! Read and Study your Bible this holiday season with others that are caring individuals. If you have an opportunity to help in this situation, PLEASE DO SO! Have a great holiday season!!

The parents can be both charged with abuse and yes it is possible that they refused to look after the son.

It's a very sad horrible situation I hope this boy finds help.

Yes they can, and depending on the childs age the child can be permanently removed from the parents care.

You can't do it in Lousiana - kids are heirs by right and not by choice...
