Could it be that God wants you to do your homework? I don't think he will just bring down a sign from Heaven. He wants you to use both your brain and your heart. In fact, I don't think he is so interested in your knowing what the true religion is as he is interested in your knowing Him. Seek Him, and He will guide you. But seek the "true religion" in the "I'm right and everyone else is wrong" sense, and you will probably go wrong.

It depends. You are right that the feelings you experience could be God telling you the religion is correct, or that you are on the right path, but it could also be feelings of excitement or interest. Have you tried attending mulitple religions, studying multiple religions, and praying about each of them? I have studied and attended mulitple religions, and some of them were awesome, at least in the sense that I had a great time and love the environment (especially the ones with the full rock bands), but in the end that is not where I ended up. I prayed about many religions, and I prayed about my current religion, and God did answer my prayers. So, I would just say, be open to all religions, respect all religions, and find for yourself which one you feel is right, both logically and through faith and wisdom from God.

Hello
Don't make a decision concerning religion by the things you feel
Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?
After all feelings come from the heart.
Suggestion: Visit a church, a mosque, a buddist temple, a synagogue, and any other places of worship you can think of, don't tell anyone that you are searching. Ask the religious teachers / leaders questions (they could be everyday questions, they don't have to be heavy questions if you choose not to ask them.) What is their standard? Is it the bible, the koran, or the torah. Once you have found this out, does it match what their religion practices? What do the followers base their religion and faith on?
Meanwhile do an online study of the different religions. By visiting various religious places of worship you tend to be able to ask questions in person and see with your own eyes how they worship.

Good luck in your search, and I truly hope you find what you are seeking.

Dear friend,
I will share with you some of my own experience. Since I was a little boy I remember myself asking God to guide me to his own religion. I didn’t want to go to hell either. I remember I used to attend the official church of my Country (Greece) and I used to enjoy the beautiful sounds of the hymns, the aromatic smells of the candles etc. The official Greek Church is called Orthodox and the ceremonies are based on creating a sacramental environment inside the church. At this age I was sure I was in the true religion and that God will always be with me. While I was growing up I realized that the official church didn’t give me any practical information about how I could reach God and how I could have some spiritual experiences with God. In contrary I could see that the representatives of “God” in the church were hypocrites and they struggled to gain more political power rather than reach God.
While growing up I started reading the Bible and specially the New Testimony. I was amazed. I realized that Jesus was not just a prophet. He claimed that “I am the true and living way: no one comes to the Father but by me”. No other person on earth ever dared to say that he was the “only way to reach God”. Jesus didn’t stop to this. He also said “Up to now you have made no request in my name: do so, and it will be answered, so that your hearts may be full of joy”. So I asked myself. “Why not give Jesus a chance?”
I prayed to Jesus and I said “Jesus, if you are alive and if you are the only way for me to reach God I want you to guide me. I want to be saved and I want you to give me spiritual experiences”. I kept praying this way for a while and the results were amazing! I was “reborn” just as Jesus promised to his believers. Then I had my first spiritual experiences. Firstly, I used to pray and ask God for a certain matter to talk to me, then I opened randomly one page of the New Testimony and the answer was there! Then I had the experience of the Holy Spirit in the same way as the first disciples described in the New Testimony in the book of “Acts” ! I attended a protestant church where people read the bible and believe in Jesus just like the first disciples of God. At this period of time I was sure I was in the true religion and that God will always be with me. However later on I realized that the “representatives” of this church struggled more and more to gain power inside the church rather than pray and reach God. So I had to choose between being a loner, believing God staying home or attending a Church that I knew that people were hypocrites. I now pray to God without attending a Church and I still have the same spiritual experiences. I don’t trade this with anything. I will only attend a Church if I am sure that people will love God more than human power that an organization gives. I still believe I am in the true religion and that God will always be with me. I just pray that if I am wrong, God will show me His true way. Please give Jesus a chance to come in your life and change it. I still have many unanswered questions. I cannot understand why only a few people have the same spiritual experiences that Jesus promised 2000 years before. I can only urge you to read the New Testament. This book is the only book that contains the words of Jesus and the descriptions that the first disciples gave. Jesus said “If you keep my word, then you are truly my disciples; And you will have knowledge of what is true, and that will make you free”.
May God be with us…

You seek what has been in you since the creation of life. The kingdom of GOD, is (in You and all around You). We go to places of wood, brick, stone, fabric and metals to confess, praise, unity, to belong. I am a soldier of many wars, grew up in the church for life, my father was a pastor. What I have seen men do to each other; Muslim, Christian, Protestant, Catholic, Jews and Gentile; thru this time present, past, and future will almost seem there is no religion or GOD, But seek him with all your heart, (don't be surprise, he may not be in a religion or a place of worship, but within You; the religion you seek is your faith to believe in GOD and his Angels to protect and help us along the way of life. This is my answer to what you seek; you will know the truth as if it were a bolt of lightning striking you for the first time. I pray your heart be at peace. PLDC

All religions are based on love...but if u ask God to help u find the truth, dont think God is gonna magically put the feeling of truth in ur heart by one time... it took me a while to find truth, i prayed every day for it, and for months i researched about the world, and different religions, i even left my home in Canada, and moved to Ethiopia, all in search of the truth, God says: You will find the truth when u seek for it with all ur heart, I am not God, so i dont know what He has done for u, I am just giving my opinion

Try praying to God for courage, rather than to "feel courageous".
Pray for love rather than to "feel like a loving person".
The sensation you are talking about is not God's magical power filling you and drawing you to the truth. What you are feeling is acceptance and clairity. Neither of those requires actual truth. The comfort you are feeling is just that- a feeling. It is not a sensation of the divine.
Do you believe that Muhammud rode to heaven on a magic horse? If the answer is no, then 1) you are a rational person, and 2) you're not a muslim.
Stop worrying about finding true religion! Hell is imaginary!

Usually when you have a heavy feeling inside your heart, it's sadness, not love. When you find the true religion, you will feel free, saved, blessed in your whole being. There won't be any doubt. I think you should keep exploring but that is just my opinion. Good luck and God Bless.

Your prayer was for religion, God is not religious. He speaks of faith. The devil can appear as an angel of light. It may look good first until you commit and then watch out. Ask God to show the direction to the truth of His Word. Ask for wisdom. God said if you ask for wisdom he will give it to you. Take your time in this. You sound confused and the bible says confusion and evil go hand in hand

God does not make absolutely everyone persist with any faith. you eventually make the alternative as to what faith you will persist with. basically because of the fact a parent is a Christian, does not recommend the newborn will grow to be one besides. the newborn might persist with the "faith" yet that doesn't lead them to a Christian. you could be a Christian without know the God of that faith. you could know the practices of that faith and circulate with the aid of each and all of the tenets of that faith and not be a real Christian. people often persist with of their parents footsteps. The Christian faith does not tension each physique to be a Christian, in comparison to different faiths. God particularly plenty facilitates us to do even though we adore. If we choose a undesirable street, he accepts the line we are on. He supplies us unfastened reign. If we ask for his information, he will supply it.
