I'm not sure what you mean by the phrase, "the Bible does not have a Christian religion." The word "Christian" is used in Scripture three times, so this was an acceptable descriptor of what some call our "religion."

I do not view Christianity as a "religion," I view it as a RELATIONSHIP. "Religion" is a set of man-made rules that people follow; a relationship is a set of God-made rules that people follow.

So Jesus didn't have a "religion," either. In fact, He aggressively preached AGAINST religion to the Pharasees and Sadducees, who had built up a religion that completely eradicated the loving, just commandments of God. Instead, He urged those who heard to abandon the hypocritical ways of the religious leaders of the day -- and follow Him to eternal life.

Peace.

They were Jewish. But because the Jews continued to follow the law of Moses, and Jesus had come to fulfill that, not all of the laws were needed (such as not being able to eat different kinds of meat, and animal sacrifices). Therefore, a new religion, following the NEW law had to be started.
Christian simply means "follower of Christ" or "Christ imitator."
The first "Christians" (Paul, and Jesus's disciples) were indeed Christians.

Jesus and his disciples were born, lived and died as Jews. Possible exceptions: Peter, who founded the Church and Paul (who came later) who spread the word.
