I just read that almost all the artctic ice will be melted in 2040. How high will sea level rise? 10 feet, 40 feet, 100?

The level of the sea will not rise significantly. The polar ice cap is like an ice cube sitting in a glass of water. When it melts, the level of the water in the glass stays the same.

However, if the ice in Greenland melts....the global sea level WILL rise significantly...because it is ice that is currently sitting on dry land...and therefore not currently impacting sea level.

STILL....the fresh water from the artic will drastically impact the salinity of the world's oceans ....and therefore impact the ocean currents which moderate world temperatures.

I just took Geology and I was told that if the ice cap melted it would cover most of the east and west coast (I am safe in Colorado LOL). Not sure how many feet though. Good luck on your answer!

Nice that they have a date, would likely cover most of the eastern seaboard of the US.

Tell me, was this the same group who said the oceans would be dead in 10yrs.... 23years ago?
If so, I certainly wouldn't spend any extra money or time concerned with it.
