I've had a lump on my arm which is slightly smaller than an inch in length. It's been there for about 10 years (I'm 30) and my mother (who's a nurse) says that it's just a lump of fatty tissue and is not a problem.
A doctor can remove it under local anasthetic very easily if you're worried.

Do not delay. Have the lump evaluated by a doctor immediately. There may be more of these small lumps or the tumor may have tentacles stretching below the surface of the skin that you cannot feel or see. You will not know if the lump is malignant or benign until you have a biopsy. Too many young people make the mistake that a cyst, lump, or bump is nothing to be worried about. The reason they think this is because they generally feel fine, except for the lump, so they ignore it for months. A young person due to strength and good health is able to withstand quite a bit of discomfort and live with a growth for a long time before it manifests itself as cancer.

The only way you can know for sure whether the lump is malignant is to have it evaluated or better . . removed and tested.
I don't want to unnecessarily alarm you, but I hear all too frequently that young people wait too long before having a lump investigated. You should know that lumps, bumps, cysts, and malignant cancer can be asymptomatic. You won't have any cancer symptoms at all. You can feel fine while the cancer spreds.

Unfortunately, I know more about this than I ever wanted to know. My 17 year old was diagnosed with a stage IV abdominal sarcoma. We were totally shocked as he had just a few months before been give a complete physical and looked healthy.

And, you can absolutely have cancer on your arm.

Don't delay.

It is probably nothing. Although it could literally be anything (ranging from an ingrown hair to a cyst), it may also be related to medication. At your age, cancer would be a very slim possibility. Keep an eye on it and if it does not clear up in a couple of weeks - see your physician.

I'd say its probably a cyst of some type, and probably harmless. You should definitely go find out for sure though. If it is something serious, the sooner you get to it the best. I had one like that and it ended up being nothing to worry about.

It's probably just a cyst. If it annoys you then have it drained. A simple proceedure. Don't wait too long though because if it grows then it may have to be excised out leaving you with a scar.
I had a marble sized cyst on my breast but I knew it was'nt cancer because breast cancer doesn't run in my family. I had it checked out anyway for my peace of mind and since then it's gotten smaller. Ofcourse I reduced my coffee intake by 4 oz.
