She is only 6 years old and these bumps look like whiteheads, but they have been there for several weeks. They are a lot in a cluster on the bottom of her chin. Her mother thinks they are nothing and therefore will not take her to the doctor to have them looked at. I however, am a little less sure.

Sounds like it could be molluscum contagiosum. It's a form of wart. They are very easy for little ones to catch. My son had them all over his chest and neck when he was a little younger. I would suggest you take her to see a dermatologist if they stay any longer. If you go to her pediactrician, they'll probably tell you that they will go away by themself..they won't. Look up molluscum contagiosum on the web and see if they look similar. They spread very fast and will get worse before they get better. Just keep an eye on her. Email me if I can help you any more.
