I just wanted to know if anyone knows if a child keeps going into a closet and dresser and takes out the same clothes everyday what this could mean. The dress he takes out of the closet is way in the back he is only 5 and it is hard for him to get at it but he gets it out of the closet. I ask him why and he says he doesnt know why he takes them out. Can you help me please. This is my nephew and it sometimes creeps me out.

Kids just like repetition, it's comforting for them to know that things can stay the same. He'll grow out of it, don't worry.

my little cousin was in my wedding and he was so small that they were able to buy him a tux. he wore it all the time. with the flowers still attached. he wore it to birhtday parties, church, school programs anything that you would dress up for he wore the tux and flowers. obviously he is older now and doesn't do this anymore but he was about five when this was happening. he'll grow out of it, don't worry. they just get favorites and they are too small to understand that theyaren't supposed to wear the same thing everyday.

Maybe he has a special memory associated with the dress. He may not even realize this is why. Or it may be something as simple as the fact that he likes the texture of it or it smells good. Or who knows... maybe he is trying to freak you out. Kids are weird. Don't worry about it.

My 3-year-old would wear his Superman Halloween costume every day if I let him. Kids like weird things sometimes. He'll grow out of it eventually, and so will your nephew. I'm sorry it creeps you out, but he's just 5, and he won't do this forever.

My recommendation: take lots of pictures of him to use as blackmail when he's 13 :)

He probably like the color of the dress or something....it's no big deal. Kids that age love repetition. It gives them a sense of comfort (and control over their surroundings). Really, don't worry. It is a non-issue!
