I was married in the USA and have never submitted my marriage certificate to NSO or Civil register. My husband sent me divorce papers and abandoned us. Can I still get my son a passport even without a marriage certificate? What can I do to get him a passport? what steps should i do? Thanks.

My son was born in the Philippines and have a Birth cert in the NSO. Travel agencies ask for marriage certificate because my son carries the fathers last name. No one can seem to help me.

Was your son born in the Philippines? Is you son's birth registered with NSO? You'll need his birth certificate to get a passport, not a marriage certificate.

Any legitimate travel agent in the Philippines can assist you in getting a passport.

There have been a lot of changes with minors.

STANDARD is the child's birth certificate, two picures and your ID, but I would bring the divorce papers to show why dad cannot be there to sign off in person

Call your local court house and ask for the passport dept. or go online to their website and ask them, they should be able to answer all your questions
