After you condition your hair with conditoiner, dry it up a bit with a towel. Leave your hair to dry up a litlle bit more. Then dab some hair oil (almond and olive oil preffered) on your hair so that it can trap the moisture your hair still has.
Also dont wash and shampoo your hair too frequently, but using conditoiner a lot is ok. Dont comb too hard or too much either.

It depends on if you have curly, straight, wavy hair.
Straight Hair- Using a oil based conditioner such as (Suave Naturals - 97 cents at Dollar General) you should put it in your dry hair ( wet hair stops the follicle from absorbing the nutrients, make sure that you pick a scent that you like!) make sure that your entire hair is saturated and slick it back like a gangster. Let the conditioner sit until it starts to dry in your hair. It will flake and be gross looking, but trust me it works. Once it is completely dry to your scalp, rinse your hair, ( DO NOT SHAMPOO IT) and the day after the next day of your treatment, shampoo as you normally do. Your hair might look a little greasy but its def. worth it.
Curly hair- Probably the easiest to moisturize because curly hair is pourous, it takes a more intense treatment. There are two ways that you can go with curly hair, you can use oils (literally) or eggs/mayoinaise. Make sure that when you are moisturizing your hairyou don't use any hair products like mousse/gel etc. it will stop the hair from soaking the moisture. With oils its a lot thicker consistency, and will overly saturate your hair. Here are some steps.....
1) Get a natural non additive extra virgin olive oil, and heat it on your stove, low heat,( in the microwave will make it bubble and gross, it heats it too fast) then when the oil starts to darken pour it into a bowl, or something that you have on hand to easily dispense it.
2) Only slightly dampen your hair, with wam, not hot water to oepn your hair shafts and follicles, after the oil has cooled for - minutes and is warm,(hot olive oil can damage your hair worse than it already is) soak your entire head with the oil and let it sit for 20-45 minutes ( it all depends on how dry your hair is).
3) It is time to rinse your hair when you touch it, your hand sort of falls over the hair.
4) Repeat in 12 days, to maximize your moisturization.
Wavy hair- There is not a real definition for 'good' moisturizing for wavy types of hair lots of different methods work. For me, I use Palmer's Cocoa Butter in my hair and let it dry that way, and wash it after. Another thing that I have seen people do is, use mayoinasse and let it dry. It just depends on your level of dryness.
Good luck, hope it all turns out silky!

well when your hair is really damaged you can't think of the cheapest way! you need to think of the 1 way cure! well i'm a hairdresser so here are my suggestions what you can do if money is really tight grab any conditioner you have place enough to cover all of your hair (make sur ehair is damp) then grab either a shower cap or plasic wrap (for foods) and grab ur blow dryer and after u have your conditioner on ur hair and ur head wraped in plastic run the blowdryer over ur head for about 5-10 minutes unil u feel ur head holding the heat then let sit on hair for about 30 more minutes then rinse do this about 3 times a week and about a few weeks you should see a difference if not you may want to go to a beauty shop for deep penetrating conditioners.

Yes, olive oil helps. Ever heard of bananas for hair? Or eggs? Mash one over ripe banana with the yellow of two eggs. Apply this on hair as a mask, shampoo off after 1/2 h. Banana has great moisturizing properties.

Olive oil and honey mask. Mix 2 parts olive oil and one part honey - let it still for about an hour, and your hair will be shiny and soft. Do it at least once a week if your hair is really damaged.
