My husband gets them (and now my son) and he used to get this stuff from his doctor that he would simply apply at the first "tingle" of a sore. He'd still get the sore, but it wasn't as big and it faded quickly. I can't remember the name of the ointment, though. He has used Abreva, as well, which is over-the-counter. Just talk to your doctor. To avoid getting them so frequently, you might just want to make sure you eat right and you keep your stress level in check. My husband gets nasty cold sores when he is stressed out! Good luck! s.

I would say that your body is run down and the virus is just recycling again and again. Perhaps some rest, getting fresh air and exercise and eating a good diet might help sort your general health out. If you get them that frequently it could be an indication of an underlying medical problem.
As for the cold sores, they are highly contagious and you need to use a separate towel, not kiss anyone while they are active so that you don't spread them and maybe you need to see a doctor to get a good cream to get it under better control.

I used to get those in high school. They finally quit by the time I was about 25. Blistex helped a little.

Zorivax is awesome. It's not available in the US without a prescription, but I'm sure a savvy internet user would be able to find it elsewhere.
