Oh, you didn't know? Christians know EVERYTHING! They know who is going to heaven or hell, and who is sinning, and what religion is obviously right! Come on; Christians are the most hateful religion there is. People are going to say, "O no, man, Muslims are hateful; Nine-Eleven! Nine-Eleven!!!" Well, you don't hear Jews complaining about the Spanish Inquisition, do you? What about the Holocaust? Never happened, eh? Godd*mnit I hate religions who think they're right.....

I'm not a church-goer nor can i claim a religion of my own, so i feel i can give an unbiased opinion. I have known many christians who think that they know everyhting about every religion. These same people also feel that their religion is the "right" religion, which i feel is bull. There is no right or wrong religion. From what i can see every individual personality is different so it makes sense that there would be different sets of beliefs. this does not mean that Christians know everything about Judaism. I think that sometimes some people may feel that Christianity is better or "more right" than judaism, and they like to prove their superiority by "showing" that they know everything about all religions, but have stilll chosen theirs to be the best one. I think most people know a touch about the history behind some religions, but that certainly does not make them experts. i guess you will always have people who want to show-off and make everyone think they know everything, not matter what the subject matter is......

Jesus was Jewish. So they got some inkling.
Besides, sometimes it's nice to give another perspective.
though I agree if the question is about Judaism in depth, it should be answered by someone with extensive knowledge in Judaism, and the probability of a Christian having that knowledge is slim.
Maybe they just don't want to feel left out. you have to admit, it's fun discussing circumcision, skullcaps and gefilte fish.

I guess they feel that because they have read the Old Testament they are experts. Well, most of them haven't read the Old Testament. Rethink, Hmm. Perhaps because they say the New Testament explains the Old Testament so, since Jews don't read the New Testament, the Christians know it better than the Jews. I guess the New Testament is like the Cliff's notes or something.

Christianity and Judaism are closer to each other than most people (Jews or Christians) in this country presently realize. (Example; he 2 or more witnesses' principle; Deut. 10-20 for Jews, Matt, 18:16, 2 Cor. 13:1 for Christians).

I've been told it's because we read the same book so they understand as much as we do. Unfortunately they don't understand it the same way we do, and most of them have no idea that the Talmud is an extension of the Torah -- if they even know anything like the Talmud even exists! The Roman Catholic Church has done its job well by forbidding the Talmud from its congregants.

Hmmm...maybe I jump in because my best friend is Jewish and I am very protective of her. I think Christians have as much right to respond to questions about Judaism as atheist do about Christianity. We all have a "right" to speak here, this in the United States and we have freedom of speech...or this forum would not even exist. Think about that.

Can you give me an example?
It could be that we do have at least some knowledge about Jewish history and traditions. Not as much as a Jew mind you, but we aren't completely ignorant either.
