Idiot dog....I hope she was sprayed in the face that smelly *****. Either way, need help getting it off of her. Now, I think the humane society will put her to sleep, but that seems drastic. I'll clean her up if it's not too much work......

Try bathing her in some Borscht. It takes the smell right out.

She isn't stupid, or an idiot, just doing what is natural. Tomato juice works, but it is messy, and could be too much work for you. Give her to the humane society, they will give her a tomato bath, and find a loving home for her. She deserves more than you can give her! BTW, if she got sprayed badly in the face, she would be blinded. So if that is what you want for your dog, then give her to the Humane Society or a shelter. She certainly would be better off you idiot.

I have heard taking a bath in tomato juice works but never had to try it. I also just recently saw something at the pet store for skunk smell, it was with the dog shampoos and stuff.

Go get about five large containers of V-8 juice or regular tomato juice. Soak the dog in it and then bath with Dawn dish soap. Use a good conditioner because the skin will dry out.

My dog is an outside dog in the country.
He does stuff that makes him stink all the time.
He rolls in dead animals, cow sh*t, horse sh*t- it doesn't seem to matter if it stinks he is all over it.
I don't know why- before I moved out into the country, he was a house dog ( a very large house dog) now he does dog like stuff all the time, including but not limited to chasing anything with fur, yes, even skunks.
I can deal with sh*t smells. I can even deal with rotten animal flesh but skunk requires action:
TOMATO JUICE- use a big tub outside, so the stink doesn't get in the house and good luck

1 quart of hydrogen peroxide
1 cup of vinegat
1 tbs of baking soda
2 tbs of dawn dish soap
Mix together, there will be some foaming, wait until it subsides and then bathe the dog with it. Allow it to set for 5-10 minutes and rinse well. I always repeat it a second time. Use a washclothe around the face which is usually the worst smelling.

Stupid dog?? How about stupid owner for not keeping the dog in??

Anyway, there is a shampoo called skunk off. This has been on the market for a very long time, sold by many vets. Try this.

Deskunking recipe given to us by our obedience trainer:

1 quart 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
1/4 cup Baking Soda
1 quart water
2 tsp. Palmolive liquid or Softsoap or Ivory liquid (DO NOT use DAWN as it is so efficient it breaks down the hydrogen peroxide and it can't work effectively)

Wet the dog's coat first with slightly warm water. Then sponge the mixture onto the coat and suds it in well. Leave on for at least 5 minutes. Rinse with warm water. You may have to reapply. KEEP OUT OF DOG'S EYES, AS THIS STINGS!

Also, DO NOT STORE THIS MIXTURE, AS IT WILL EXPLODE! Pour it down your drain when finished with it.

LOL! Sorry, but the same thing happened to one of my dogs years ago. Give her a good bath in tomatoe juice, may tke a couple of trys, then re-bathe using a good shampoo. this will take care of the worst of it, and she will still smell a bit for a week or so...but you'll be able to stand it.
