Daniel - ROTFLMBO...surely we can leave that old arguement in the past where it belongs. I lived through all that, play it backwards and the devil is speaking (ever try to play it backwards, I did), its really about drugs (some of it was) era and I would as soon forget it.
No, they are not satanic...their music is meant to sell...period.

In the late 70's I heard rumors that they were to be avoided because they were "devil worshippers". When I'd seen the LP cover for "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" I thought, what were they guys thinking? 666? Wow, daring! Only to find out Sabbath had nothing To do with it, Warner Bros are the ones. Black Sabbath or I should say, Geezer Butler wrote of the darkside of life. While other artists wrote silly love songs & non offensive lyrics, Sabbath told it like it is. Just because lucifer or satan was mentioned, well, so does the bible, it was not meant to promote evil, but truth of what was really happening. The bible mentiones satan as a deceiver so does NIB. In the "Lord of this world" the lyrics are basically saying, what satan would say to people who deliberately choose evil over good (and if you're not paying attention) you could miss it! If you are spiritual & you're not close minded take the time to understand this!

OK, the only album(s) of Black Sabbath that could be satanic (I have not listened to all their albums) but Headless Cross, and possibly the other albums with Tony Martin, are a bit satanic. I read the lyrics to it, the lyrics like 'For I believe, Satan lives, in the souls of dying' Can't die until Satan says, you die, 'An angel of hell is rising, heaven's no friend of mine' basically this album 'Headless Cross' have almost satanic lyrics.
But I listened to some other albums with Ozzy and with Dio - and they are not satanic. So I would stay away from albums with Tony Martin, but then again, I don't think they are satanic, maybe only Tony Martin..

YES. It is truth hidden in plain sight. Black Sabbath is a band who are satan worshippers. There music brings a curse. My little cousin used to listen to them and stopped and he's a rocker and not a Christian and even he said to me he would have the worst week and a lot of trouble and bad luck would come at him when listening to Black Sabbath. It was only when he noticed the connection did he dump all their records. A brother of mine in Christ before he was Christian was visited by demons while listening to the Black Sabbath song 'The Wizard'. The satanic liars out there are depending on deception so you do not take this seriously. They want you to laugh at it and think its a joke so you'll stay blinded by the lie to keep you from the spiritual truth. Don't be a sucker.

If you listen to black Sabbath songs %90 of them either speak in the negative about bad things or in the positive about Jesus.
Have you ever thought about you soul can it be saved or perhaps you thing when your dead you stay in the grave.
Sabbath bloody Sabbath nothing more to do.
Living just for dieing and dieing just for you!
Satatanic my butt! Ozzy is the best preacher of all times catching you attention with the shock of evil and feeding you a positive message!
N.I.b sung by Satan is made expressly to wake you up to his tricks not entice you to serve him!

I am not particularly deep into a religion, but was raised Christian, and I am a huge Black Sabbath fan. Songs like "N.I.B." and "Master of Reality" that touch on the subject of Satan in my opinion were more analogy and Sabbath's attempt at social commentary, but I suggest you go read the lyrics and history of the songs in question and make you own decision based on how you feel after listening to them and knowing what they are actually saying.
The band certainly did write a lot of songs with occult influences but I see it as more narrative than brainwashing or a tool of the devil.
Use your mind! Decide for yourself. I am comfortable with my mind as it is

Satanic? No. Secular? Yes.
Yes, I am a Christian, but I think that there is a great misconception among Christian in thinking that any music (especially rock) which is secular is immediately satanic. Creating music which is devoid of religion does not mean that they are creating it for the glory of Satan.
As for Black Sabbath particularly, much of their lyrics discuss major events which were taking place during the 70's.
Examples:
"War Pigs" - This song is a critique of the Vietnam war. They were basically pointing out the tragedy and horror of war while at the same time equating the corrupt politicians and generals of the time to servents of Satan.
"Sweet Leaf" - This song obviously is pot (the drug), and his liking of it. While maybe it isn't "Christian" I would venture to say that it isn't satanic.
I could go on, but only for redundancy. Yes, Black Sabbath mentions Satan in many songs, but always picturing him as a sign of evil and to be feared, not in a friendly light. And yes, they also question the validity of religion, but not speciffically Christianity in fact all relgion. Does the mean that they are Satanic? No. Secular? Yes.

NIB was a song about Lucifer who met a woman, fell in love, and became a good person. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N.I.B.
Just because they mention 'Lucifer' or 'satan' doesnt make them satanic. Some of them in fact wear crucifixes in their videos.
"If you think I sleep upside-down in the rafters and fly around at night and bite people’s throats out, then that’s your thing…I’m not going to suddenly become a Jesus freak or anything. But I do have my beliefs and my beliefs are certainly not satanic"- Ozzy
