The reason why Eric lost again is simple, he's shot, he's been in way too many wars. There are many people who want to say "It's because of his fights with Manny" that he is done, but I think that his three fights with Marco Antonio Barrera that took their toll on Morales and the fights with Manny were just the icing on the cake.
There's another issue that can not be ignored and that's Morales constant battle with the scale in the past 6 years. You can not deplete your body of food and liquids on a constant basis and expect your bod body to perform well. Morales was as high as 170 pounds and would cut down to the 130 pound limit in less than three months.
I have always been a Morales fan, but being a fan doesn't make lose sight of the fact that he should retire. Sure Eric may have another two or three fights left in him but I ask you and the others "At what price?" Now at this stage in his career is when he's most vulnerable to receive Pugilistic Dementia (Brain Damage) I would much rather remember him for his fights with Barrera and his Victory and two losses to Manny than remembering him as a fighter who didn't know when to hang them up.
Thanks for the question.

Seems like Morales has a lot of loyal fans as they keep making excuses for him. Maybe the opponents Morales had faced before Manny were washed up and/or hand picked and now he faces the best and he's just not at that level ? Everyone says how young and fresh Manny is but he is almost the same age as Morales. Just because Manny never fought under the spotlight they think he just showed up out of thin air. Manny paid his dues on the way up just like anyone else.

Discipline when in training and the determintion to win that is Manny's secret.

I disagree that in his prime morales can beat the pacman anytime. even in his prime the way manny fights today nobody in his division can stand up to his speed and power.

I would also like to add that if not for that headbutt which resulted to a nasty cut the pacman would have ko'ed morales in the latter rounds. If you look at almost all of morales fight he always gets tired come the late rounds and manny on the other hand can fight 12 rounds of non stop action. Even with a lot of blood lost due to the cut manny was still standing and throwing punches. have to give respect for the guys courage others would have quit or fell but not the pacman.

Morales was at the end of his career before he beat Pacquioa the first fight. he should have retired. Morales has the heart of a lion that would not let him stop fighting. Makes you proud of him, but it also worries you because of the dangers. He had already fought too many rounds and made the extra effort to please his country and give the young Paquiao the shot to become what Morales was years ago. If Morales would have fought Pacquiao at the same stage of there careers, Morales would have destroyed Pacquiao hands down. As a result of fatigue and wear and tear, Morales broke down.

Oh cmon.. morales admitted that pacquiao is really strong unlike the second fight where he said that he went down because he's just tired and pacman's punch are not strong ..but on the third fight he never made any explanations after he lost..he said that he was in his best condition but pacman is the better fighter he didn't make the weight loss as an excuse.. watch more interviews please?? pacman doesn't talk a lot, he do his talking in the ring \m/

Morales is only 29 years old people are responding like he was 80. He is down some but not completely shot. Pacman is a very good fighter and his style is tough for Morales. Morales hates to box but that is what he needed to do to have any kind of chance. He needed to jab and move not stand and trade.

Drying out to lose wieght catches up with a fighter. It caught up with Eric. Morales please retire I have too much respect for your skill as a fighter. Your best days are gone. Too many wars. Don't ruin a hall of fame career.

Because he fought a better, younger, faster, stronger and better prepared fighter.
He's over the hill(I hate to admit it. It's always sad to see a great fighter get beaten up.).
He's been into too many wars. He's such a warrior.
Losing those many pounds in such a short time may have affected or weakened him.
Pacquiao is in his prime and getting better and better every time.
