I'm not Indian, but I do have indian friends and I am an American. I work for a company based in UK so I travel there quite often.
Being an outsider, I have seen a lot of prejudice against Indian (and other South Asian) people in UK. Actually, for most English people it is more of a love/hate relationship: they love Indian food, but hate the fact that there are so many of them living in UK as citizens and residents.
Realize that Indians constitute the largest minority in UK (like Hispanics or Blacks in US), and as is typical, the majority always is afraid of minorities and tries to blame everything on them.
The way I look at it is this: England occupied India for about 150 years (until mid 1940's) and India was considered the "Jewel in the Crown" (or something like that). England abused the rights of Indian natives and exploited Indian wealth and resources. Now it is payback time, the Indian descendents are now taking advantage of resources in UK. (Same applies for African arabs in France, the Turks in Germany, Vietnamese, Phillipino, Hispanics, etc. in USA, etc).
Unlike US, I have observed much higher levels of segregation in UK and other countries (including Canada). The indians in UK, for most part, keep to themselves and are not really integrated in the society. For example, one of the programmers at my company was a UK born Indian man. He would never show up at any of the company events (including Christmas parties or company team sports), I do not think he was shy (since he would always communicate frankly with me, being an American, I guess he felt more comfortable with me), he was mostly invisible to his colleagues on a daily basis.
I have gone to several Indian restaurants with my fellow English colleagues. The irony is that they love Indian food but make fun of the Indian waiters and music, etc.
I am not even going to talk about the skinheads that literally beat UK born indians and residents at any opportunity they get (most of them live close to areas that have a high Indian/South Asian population in the middle of the country, near Leeds). They blame lack of job opportunity and welfare on Indians instead of focusing on work and education to improve their lot and instead blame it on the hard working, educationaly focused Indian descendents

Like a few people here many immigrants to britain are not from India, although we think they are. Indian has started to become a very successful country and has been compared to China. But i wonder why this is, surely nothing to do with a once superpower installing an amazing imfrastructure there and bringing these people into the modern age.
They seem to be churning out a lot of well educated people. And there movie industry is apparently bigger than hollywood. But lets face it, you've seen one bollywood movie, you've seen them all.
But like every nationality that goes to another country. Respect their culture. If you want to live there dont expect to take your way of life there and reap all the benefits that their society has to offer.
If you want to play on someone elses pitch, you play by their rules!

I have always got on with any Indian people that I have met, they are hard working, and have a sense of humour, just look at the Sikh Elvis impersonator.
Unfortunately there are a lot of ignorant people who can't tell the difference between a Sikh and a Muslim and think that India Pakistan and Bangladesh are all the same country.

There is nothing wrong with people from India. I know ome very nice ones! I think that a lot of British people get upset that so many companies export their call centre business to India though. However, this is not the fault of the Indians!

I grew up in Gravesend, Kent. This town has many Indian and Pakistani families. Some of my best friends at school were indian. I have absolutely nothing against them... as long as they come to the UK legally, (which nearly all of them have) then I'm fine with them. I still have some Indian friends now, although I don't see them much, as I live away from home now.

I do not actually know a lot of Indian people, more from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, but the few that I have met seem very humble and genuine people. I like their sense of family in that they take care of their elderly and revere them as wise people whereas in other cultures the young would mug the old as soon as look at them.

It relies upon whilst your daughter replaced into born. If she replaced into born contained in the united kingdom previously a million January 1983: She is in simple terms about easily a British Citizen. the sole exception is that in case you have been a diplomat on the time of her delivery, or had diplomatic immunity on the time of her delivery. If she replaced into born contained in the united kingdom on or after a million January 1983: She is a British citizen if the two you or her father replaced into: a British citizen; or legally settled contained in the united kingdom. wish this facilitates.

I live in America, but I do not mind Indians as long as they are here legally, which I think they all are. they are very smart and educated, and unlike the Mexicans which come here illegally, wait long periods of time before coming here. I have no problem with Indians!
