We are in Iraq because Bush's Jewish masters ordered him to use American soldiers as cannon-fodder to fight Israel's war. Israel's goal is to absolutely dominate the middle east without sacrificing their own blood. Israel thought it would be a cake walk to murder thousands of Lebanese and destroy their country, but they found out that the Lebanese, Palestinians, and others in the middle east are fed up with Israeli genocide. Israel has nothing to fear from Iran regarding nuclear weapons. Quite the contrary - it is Israel who possesses a nuclear arsenal, and it is Israel who will no doubt use nukes against Iran and Iraq someday. The "big plan" of Bush and his neo-con warmongers was to defeat Iraq militarily, establish 14 permanent military bases in Iraq, and to use the US military to control events in the middle east. Fortunately, the US military has been defeated in Iraq and the US must now put its tail between its legs and get out of the middle east. "Before Israel became our friends, we had no enemies in the middle east."

While its not an "official" reason for being in the neighborhood, it certainly ends up being convient. Some people even think that the ultimate strategy for Iran is to use a combination of a democratic Iraq and an unyielding Isreal to browbeat them into submission.
I can't say that's not a bad idea...
Nothing against your intelligence, but if you think we're giving weapons to give us cause for war then you're nuts. America, like any other country, have interests rather than allies. At some point in time it was beneficial for our country to ally itself with the Soviet Union, and then just as quickly we became mortal enemies. The same thing occured with Iran.
BTW, if our goal is to own the Middle East and its oil, how come I'm paying more than $2.00 a gallon for gas when we have Iraq "occupied"?

No. The supply lines and routes into Iran via Iraq are terrible.
We haven't sold significant arms to the Iranians in a long time.
The idea that we could effectively occupy Iran is insane. It would be much worse than even Iraq.
We don't have to own any of the oil. We do however need to insure that it flows freely.

These are exxagerated information which the president aims to over exxagerate and spit into the propaganda machine in American to brainwash the public to support another war adventure. If Iran does exert any influence or support in Iraq I highly doubt it will amount to the level of evils America did to Iran in 1953 when CIA overthrew the elected government of Iran and installed the brute Dicatorship of the Shah who ruled ruthlessly with American support and aid, who was also kept in power by a CIA and Mossad created police force, the Savak, which was the world's most torturous police force.

I think the US does want a number of permanent bases in the Middle East to protect Israel, oil production and shipping routes, and to provide stabilty to the region. At least this was part of the post invasion plan.

You sound paranoid. Iran is years away from having nukes, and they are a member of the NPT. The abide by all the rules of the NPT.
Israel is known to possess 200 nuclear war heads, and is not a member of the NPT. And Israeli officials still deny inspectors to analyze thier nuclear sites. They still put that Israeli nuclear whistle blower (forgot his name) under house arrest. That means Israel has a lot to hide in its nuclear program.
I hope you understand what 200 nukes can do to the world.
