Low calorie festive eating tips

Facts

~ One bottle of beer contains about 150 calories.

~ Beer, wine and liquor (an alcoholic beverage made by distillation rather than fermentation) all contain different quantities of alcohol; 15 mugs (250 ml per mug) of beer, 6 glasses (200 ml per glass) of wine and 10 shots of liquor (like tequila, whisky, rum) have about the same amount of alcohol.

~ Beer has between three to eight percent alcohol. 'Light' or low-cal beers contain around three percent alcohol.

~ Liqueurs (sweetened spirits with various flavours, oils and extracts) such as sherry and dessert liqueurs contain 40 to 50 percent alcohol and tend to have more calories.

~ White wines average 12 percent, while red wines have around 14 percent alcohol.

Note: The number of calories also depend on the size of the peg.

Adding any carbonated beverage or fruit juice would increase the calorie content of the drink as juices and beverages contain calories.

Wine has the most benefits and calorie content can vary depending on the variety, ie: sweet wine, red, white, etc. Red it the best for you. It usually runs about 150 calories a glass.

The lowest calorie alcoholic drink is scotch and water or soda.

Beer will definitely put weight on you.

They are all high calorie beverages, but the atkins diet allows white wine on occasion, and a small serving at a time, because it is made with white grapes and has fewer carbohydrates than red wines, which contain plums, and other fruit and beer which is grain - these have more carbs than white wine.

my mom is a diabetic, and cannot consume lots of carbohydrates and all of her carb counting books say that most all wine has negligble carbohydrates in it. Reds or Whites. does not matter. But best bets for watching calories are wine, then beer, then diet soda plus say rum or other clear type liquor.

avoid all drinks with sugar in them. do not have drinks containing fruit juice in them. Those just add uncessary sugar and calories.

I think a bottle of wine is about 650 calories for a whole bottle of rose if i remember correctly. Spirts are ~50 calories per 25cl. So wine is better on comparison. I think.

wine has the lowest calories / alcohol ratio. However, beer is a complex carbohydrate. So if you plan on working it off, beer is great.

eat more and more often is the simple answer. dont necessarily eat junk, eat things high in protein, like lean meat and tuna. as a possible days meals try this: breakfast: big bowl of oatmeal with your favorite toppings in it, bagel with peanut butter or cream cheese, but peanut butter would be better. a banana, and a tall glass of milk. a couple hours later: have another bagel with peanut butter on it or something of similar caloric value lunch: big turkey sandwich and maybe a salad with a can or two of tuna in it at the side. you can be creative with your side dishes. also eat that with an apple or something like that. another tall glass of milk. a couple hours later: follow the same stratetgies as before, maybe have a big tuna sandwich or something like that, and a protein bar and milk. also subway has some good food choices like the sweet onion chicken teryakki sub. that will promote weight gain, and is fairly healthy too later: workout with weights. strive for 30 minutes every other day right after is dinner: eat something like 3 slices of lean chicken, that will be like 350 calories and 89 grams of protein. thats a lot of protein. so eat whatever else with that, like another bagel or more tuna or just a big slice of pizza if you want. also have that with a big glass of milk and a banana, a few bananas even. right before bed: eat more chicken or another big turkey sandwich right before bed. and at anytime if you feel hungry, eat, dont feel like you cant eat at anytime other than those specified. this diet will definately make you gain weight.
