I need a few ideas on how to do this. I want it to be special. What I was thinking is getting about 5 very nice boxes that fit inside eachother. After we open all other gifts, I'll give the box to her. When she gets to the last (smallest) box, it will have a note that says to look for a special decoration (that I need to get) on the tree, and I'll have the ring on that. FYI, she's also about 5 months pregant. So if anyone has a better idea or something different from what I have planned, please let me know. Thank you all, and have a Merry Christmas

Sweet idea bro! My sister is crying right now reading it.
Go with it, if she turns you down, my sister will marry you. Yes, it's that sweet!
Good luck, congrats, and have fun!

I think that sounds like a cute idea, but one thing to remember is that the point is for it to be a suprise so it might get ruined if its in the tree..... why don't you do the idea with the boxes, but when she gets to the last box it will be empty also... so she'll look at you like,... what's going on and you can pull it out of your pocket get on one knee and propose... that way its not awkward with her getting the ring and every girl wants a guy to get on his knee that is the whole point, it will be cute.... when she opens the last box, you can say oh, her it is, and thats when you can whip it out.... she'll love it.... The best plans always work when there is little destraction, the tree thing might ruin it.... good luck.

Decorate a Christmas tree with lights and only one ornament -- a ribbon or bow tied around a velvet ring box. Ask her over for a Christmas celebration for just the two or you.
Or
During dinner at your favorite restaurant, arrange with the waiter to have the diamond in a box as one of the choices on the dessert tray. Tell her she is the sweetest thing you know and you can't resist her any longer.
Or
Set a date to go to the movies, then rent ad space for your proposal at your favorite theater. Make sure you have the diamond with you

It sounds great, but if you do that she will be expecting that. So maybe try putting the ring on your finger with the diamond inside, And hand her a gift like your getting it from under the tree, since you have to be on your knees. And see if she sees it and ask her.

I don't think you should give it to her as a Christmas gift. Give it to her before Christmas, so she can show it off during the season. Since she is preggers, the sooner the better - hope you have the wedding planned for New Year's.

do it howevwer. that's a great idea! just be sure to get on your knee! that's great! also, maybe you could tell her how great she looks pregnant when she first wakes up. set the morning off to a good mood start. pregnant women can often wake up moody. you don't want her in a bad mood for the proposal. this will make it so not special
