It will happen eventually; don't force it. That little hesitation while you do the translation in your head will simply be taken for time to think about your answer, something even native speakers sometimes need. There are so many ways to say something in English that such sorting out is common.

But the "thinking in English" will happen, possibly when you least expect it. You may already do it for common phrases, without even noticing. It's a subliminal thing.

It just takes a lot of time. English is not my mother tongue language either but most times I'm able to think in English without having to translate my thoughts in Italian ... It just takes practice...I read mostly English books, watch movies in English, listen to songs in English (at the beginning trying to understand every word and writing them down..now not anymore). After a while you totally surround yourself by things in English, whether it's books, newspaper or even friends, thinking in English will just come spontaneous to you... good luck!

I think you're stuck. Generally what you learn first is the "way you think"
It takes time really, but as you use English, you may associate more English words and build a better vocabulary that would allow you to converse in English better.

I think you have a little while to go until you reach that level, just practise and read and you will become more fluent and then spend time in an english speaking country for a good while then you can become fluent.
