Even though they are not forced to work with him, he bribes them with money. I believe these women are being oppressed because they are forced to go out of their way to look the most perfect. They are being used to make him business. There is no respect for them because men who are gazing at them are gazing them with lust and desires. The only respect they have is that men can have pleasure with them and pay them. That's all the respect they have. They are still lower than men because they are forced to make themselves look beautiful so that men will give them attention. What is so liberating about that???

I think it is more true to say all of society oppressed women including the women themselves because they knew nothing else. And women were still earning less pay for doing the same job as men up until the 1960s(?) Lots of people had horrible lives in the past, when you have to spend 12 hours a day digging ditches for a pittance or giving birth to 15 children the last thing you gave a rat's about is voting for women's rights.

Unfortunately, I agree with JIBBA JABBA; these women are exploited ONLY when they denigrate THEMSELVES by doing the things they're asked to do, whether it be for money or whatever! If they REFUSED Hefner's advances and stood on their morality and faith, he'd be out of business in short order. No one is putting a gun to their heads, so even though I don't read Playboy or condone Hefner's business and such, I can't lay all the blame on him, for he's merely giving the MAJORITY what they want!

While I may in theory agree with you, women have a mind, and they their own choice. So, having said that, if they choose to be with Hugh Hefner, then it is their own fault. There are many different career opportunities out there other than being a play Bunnie slut. He did not force them there.

Sunflower he is not making them do anything against their well. These women want to be photographed naked and filmed while having sex. It is all on the women who feed this man's pocket. ALL of the responsibility are on the women, they can stop or say I do not want to do this anymore, but they do not because the money is good.

Actually, the point of Playboy is to be a gentleman's magazine. A lot of authors get their starts with Playboy, and they have compelling discussions and articles. The naked women are just to catch the eye and get readership-- they're really not the main focus of the magazine.

Hugh Hefner merely provides a profitable venue for women to exploit themselves. What is sad is that women portray themselves in that manner.

He could create enough porn to supply the universe, but fact is that there are many men who are buying these products, so these men are helping to fund this so called "oppression".

And those women are not forced to posse, they do it out of their own choice.

I like Playboy. I believe Hefner truely loves and respects woman as human beings and yes, as sexually attractive beings. Hefner doesn't oppress women, he glorifies women. He places them on a pedastal and honors them.

Even if you don't like Playboy it has to be admitted that it's soft-core and classier and less offensive than most of the smut out there.
