So.
In about the last 30 years, the morals in America, along with God, have gone down the tubes.
God has been taken out of public schools
Pornography is now a 2 billion dollar market
Freedom is somehow now defined as doing whatever you want, when you want to.
Crime rates (murder, rape, larceny) are way up.
Homosexuality represents 1% of the American population and they are being supported all over the place by the media.
Canada just legalized gay marraige! (I just wanted to say that)
A strong majority of teens hate thier parents
Drug usage is up
Gang violence is soaring
Many video games are more disgusting day by day
So uh... don't you think the country should re-instate a moral code instead of worrying about a select few people demanding rights?
Or a better question, why doesn't the supposed ''50% christian America'' stand up for it's rights instead of watching our country self destruct?

Grow up and realize that religion is the cause of, not the solution to, crime.

Most Christians are people only in name, not conviction.

Why don't we just become a theocracy? Because the power to right this nation has always been our own. Just click your heels three times and repeat after me, "There's no place like America." Only it won't work until you've made the journey to Oz and learned the lesson yourself.
People that feel like the government has made us immoral don't realize that they've always had and will continue to have the power to raise their children as upstanding citizens, to condemn those who lie, steal, or cheat, and to demand personal responsibility. No amount of legislation can make people moral; they have to want to be.
So what if a teacher can't lead you in a prayer. Say your own. Everyone knows that they can't stop you from praying. I hate this lie that we are keeping Christians from being Christian. Pray goddammit! Just don't expect everyone to join in!
You know, I've never been to jail, I take care of my family, I don't let my kids watch South Park, etc. Oh by the way, I don't believe in God. By most standards, I am a damn good Christian! (Except for that faith thing.) Christians don't hold a monopoly on morality.
This moral decline is our fault because we accept it. Or because we accept it, it's not a moral decline, it's a liberation!
If you want to change our values, start living them! Don't go to R rated movies, don't listen to Britney Spears, turn off your TV. Do something, just quit railing against the country and do something. Lead by example.

The morals in America suck big time. I agree when they took God out of schools and the Ten Commandments out of the court rooms that was a big step back for the morals of this country. I am a mother of nine and have always preffered to be a stay at home mom and raise my chldren and I have tried very hard to make them moral responsible adults.. I did not help when they made it illegal to put up the nativity at the county properties or state properties either. There is alot more than the bible out of school. Lets face it I told my kids they can not stop you from praying to yourself in school. If you feel you need to talk to God you do so. I now home school my kids via the internet schooling because I do not trust the school system. My 10 year old daughter was sexually harrassed in the 4 th grade last year and I had to threaten the principle with the police before he stopped it. I will continue to pray for the reutrn of the only one who can put a moral end to this maddness. That is Jesus Christ and I love and worship Him. And Yes as a woman I totally agree that womens right shave been very very destructive to the morality and decent raising of our children as a whole. Not to the moms that are working to support their families and doing everything they can. I admire and respect them. It is the snobbish type that fight for womens rights that, in my opinion , demoralize our country. It can no longer be considered great. It is in shambles. The other major problem is that the rich do not want to help the poor and even create jobs they prefer to ship the jobs out of the country. There should never be a child go hungry in this country Never. But for the will of God some these children will survive and be blessed by Him. May you all have a Merry Christmas, rejoice in the Lord and know He will return soon.

I am so tempted to say yes, we need our religion back Doug...but I know that is not the only thing responsible for the lack of morals and ethics in this country. This board alone being a micro sample of "this country and world", I see hate, bigotry, evil...well...some things I would prefer not even going into; but its not just the "non-religious", that are doing these things. And, frankly, I do not see the "religious" doing a lot to make it any better either, including myself. I get upset and fed up and just go somewhere else where there is some peace.
All that being said, I think its too late for "religion" to save us from ourselves or from others.

We try to,but all the people whining usually get their way.Reminds me a lot of a spoiled child.People in power are so scared of offending people, and in turn offending others.Man's secular worldview, and philosophy of it's okay to do it if it feels good,as long as you aren't hurting anyone. That philosophy is crap.
The problems you have listed is the very reason the world would be no better if there wasn't any religion.Looks like it would be worse.
Until the population of the United States and citizens abroad realize that there should be some kind of moral code in their homes nothing will change.Christians aren't immune to this kind of tragedy in society. Many have loved ones that have run astray. No one is strong enough physically and mentally to take on the power of the devil.

America has morals?
I thought American morals died in the 1950's.
From Leave it to Beaver to Married with Children then to Will and Grace and everybody on Friends swapping with each other and having babies (from drunken one night stands.)
It's like a chronicle of deterioration

Morals? What morals? "For evil men and seducers will wax worse and worse....." Ring any bells? While the piece of Scripture I quoted doesn't reflect upon true Christians, it is reflective of the majority of planet, and therefore drags us all down unless we "....Come out from among the world and be ye a sperate people."

I have to agree with Dude. Many very secular European countries have much lower instances of crime and lower poverty levels. They seem to have managed to create very livable socieities without strict religion and with allowing people individuality and freedom.
You mentioned religion when you said why doesn't Christian America stand up for its rights.
