You can, but drinking water two or three hours before going to sleep most likely will cause you to have to get up during the night and disturb you sleep cycle.
Drinking warm water soon after you get up will cause you to have to empty your bowels soon after. But there is no real reason that you can't do both with out harm to your health.

You can . The reason not to drink water just before sleep would be so you don't have to pee during the night . As for just after you wake up , some people just have strange ideas .

it's just another 1 of our Asian's superstitious mind.. but logically, if u drink too much water b4 u sleep,u might have to 'pee' in the mid of the night.that might lead u to wet the bed.in deep sleep,u wont be able to wake up (once,i dreamt that i peed at the public tiolet.waking up to found the bed's wet! hahahahahaha!) . and just after wake up...mmm,maybe ur body need to be 'activated' for any changes 1st... coz drinking alot of water in a sudden might lead to shock ur body.If u still remember ur bio class, our cells absorb water and cause it expand a lil.. there's a process, but i dont remember the name.

I don't see why not... It's good to get a full eight cups of water a day, no matter when you drink them. It helps keep your skin clear and the toxins out of your body.

I'd say it's because it gives the evil spirits a chance to enter (via the throat) and possess your body.
