im looking at buying a mitsubishi mirage 1.5 jap import, its a tiptronic, never driven one before and wondering are they any good?. How do they compare to a manual. in other words am i gonna have much control over gear shift or will it feel like driving a bumper car?

My car has an automatic transmission with manual mode and I never use the manual mode anymore. I used it when I first purchased the car as I had only owned manuals up to that point but now I never use it as it just does not have the feel of driving a real stick shift. My girlfriend's car has a manual transmission and I drive her car every now and again when I need to feel the shifting fo the car while I drive Based on this I think you should go with the manual if you want to really feel the car when you drive it.
