It is important for you that your fiancee get the ring first??

For me its not that important because all i want is to be with him... not the ring.

It depends on the girl, I suppose. I would be totally happy with anything he gets me, and I would love the suprise. Some women are very picky, however, and will only be happy if they can pick it out themselves. And although I would love a ring, it's not completely neccessary because all that matters is that I'll be with him for the rest of my life!

To me the proper way to propose is to find the perfect ring, get on one knee and propose to the girl of your dreams.... Personally I don't get the people who propose without a ring... if you can't afford some type of ring, how can you afford to get married??? It just doesn't make sense.... The ring is important to me. I would feel that if he didn't have the ring, he wasn't really serious... he could always buy some sort of ring, even if its just a band.

I don't think a ring is that important, at least not to me anyway. Besides I'd rather be proposed to and then go and pick out the ring together. That way I can be sure the ring will fit my finger and it wont have to be sent back to be resized and what not.

An engagement has nothing to do with a ring. A ring is just the traditional symbol that we are used to. If you love the guy and he loves you...that is all you need. There isn't a code of honor that says your marriage is doomed to failure if you don't do it exactly this way or that. Go with what makes you happy and you'll be fine.

I have been married 8 years and still don't have an engagement ring - so you can't say it's not official without a ring, lol.

The ring is important for sentimental reasons. My husband asked me to go ring shopping with him and it was really fun for us because we got to choose our rings together. I love my rings, but I love him more :)

The ring isn't a big deal. Especially if the proposal is spontaneous, and he just doesn't have the ring with him.

If a man is for real and has the financial means and the maturity to do things right for the right person, then yes, it's important.

If a lady thinks that she is not the sacrifice and settle for less than they deserve...then taht's their choice.

Good luck
