If she has taken the car without permission, that is theft. If she is on illegal drugs, that is aslo a crime. You could call the police.

The legalities of what has been done varies from one place to another. Generally though, a stolen car is a stolen car. You can report that and they will keep an eye out for it. Under the age of 18 is still a minor. You must be emancipated to be able to leave without repercussions. After 2 or 3 days (again varies from place to place) you can file a missing persons report as well. Although, simply stating that the car is stolen will be suffice for the police to look for the missing child. Do not call the Police in a lighthearted fashion... If you call go through with it. Do not waste the polices time and money looking for her to just drop charges later.

There are a couple of things you can do. Your car is in your name and registration. You could report the car stolen or contact the police and notify them that your daughter has your vehicle without your permission and that you believe she may be taking a drug that would impair her judgment and possibly put other drivers in danger. You could also file a missing persons report for her. I'm not sure where you live, but in PA 17 is not an emancipated minor and you are responsible for the child until 18. Since you are the responsible party, there is an intervention that could be done with your local hospital. Admitting her under Section 302 for possible misuse of illegal drugs or mental problems. That would get her in the hospital for at least 3 days to undergo counseling. Usually insurance does cover this. Another option is to contact your local Juvenile Mental Health Services for advice. They have a lot of experience in dealing with minors that specific age and might be able to give you some insight. I hope this helps!

That is still a kid, report case to the police, she is either safe or not, the car might be stolen. Take strict but not to tight measures because the moment she learn of announcements she will just hide away or to kill herself since you said she is on drugs. What you have to know is that she is not herself those are drugs controling her life be calm and the moment you see her give her a warm welcome back home then the rest will automatically come in slowly.

Report the car stolen, have your daughter arrested for auto theft, probably possession and driving under the influence. She'll do a couple years in prison, be over 18 when she gets out, hate you forever, you'll never see her again, but you'll get your car back.

Or, if you feel certain she's on drugs, get her into an intervention program. Help break the grip and allure of drugs. Find out why she is self-medicating herself. What is she trying to escape from? I got into drugs because of the way my Mom and Dad would fight and use me as an emotional weapon. It was easier just to get stoned or drunk and numb myself out. By the time I got out of high school and out on my own I was pretty much hooked. It wasn't until my late 30's that I got clean on my own. Twelve years wasted, twelve years fumbling around in crap jobs. As Caroll O'Connor said after his son died from an overdose, "Get between your kids and drugs anyway you can."

You can report your car stolen, that's about it. Depending on where you live, the police may be able to make her return home (some states 17 is a minor? ... I'm in Canada, legal age to leave legally is 16), however, even if she does come back, she simply may leave again.

need to call the cops and report the car stolen and tell them who has it and about your suspision of her being on drugs. right now she is still a minor and will prbably let you take her home and accept responsibility to get her to court. if she gets out and kills someone at 17 there is a chance she could be tried as an adult. if you let her by with this and she does it when she turns 18 she will get a felony count on her record, so do somehting now to save her life and her future.

Taking your car without your permission is grand theft auto and you could have her picked up for that, but if they do and she is high on something then she will also have a DWI to deal with and I know you probably do not want to put her through that, but it would get her somewhat straightened out. If you did it and it went to court and you went with her you could always check into getting the charges ex-sponged from her records.

Well at a minimum you need to report your car stolen. It really depends on what you want to do. If you are trying to get her in trouble then file a complaint with the police and tell them you suspect drug use and possession.

You have to report your car stolen. I remember when I was a teen, a long time ago, my friend did that very same thing and her mother called the police and reported the car stolen.
