ok so me and my bf have been together for 3 years and we love each other very much. and we have never spent an anniversary together. i think it is a bad sign but then again im very understanding and he didn miss them on purpose. the 1st year he was in jail the day before, and i was understanding to that because it was something i did to and he protected me from getting involved with the cops but ended up in jail for a week. and then year #2 he moved away the day before and he had to for his job and i was mad about it and wanted him to delay but not super pissed, and year 3 he was here but we were both flat broke. and im not a high maintenance type i am very laid back and understanding but is that an overall bad relationship sign?

Sounds like you have a devoted man actually. Being broke doesn't mean the two of you still can't do the small stuff together. Anniversaries are remebering how you both met and our entwined somehow. Just by standing by each other through all that so far shows how supportive you both are. That is a major plus in a relationship.

My husband is in prison. There are certain signs in a relationship to allow us to decide if we want or need specific things in our lives. My husband is a great guy and is facing the consequences from his mistakes. If he was in prison due to rape, murder, child molestation, I would NOT be with him! He is in due to drug use when he was a teenager and still in the judicial system.

Anyways, if my husband, while we were dating or after was doing what your boyfriend is doing, I would rethink the whole relationship. Just because someone is in the judicial system it does not mean they can use that as an excuse for everything they do. Live up to your mistakes, learn from them and change the situation.

If I was in your situation my gut feelings would be telling me that other things going on with him that he is not telling. If you are serious about this guy, ask to see him court documentations. Or contact the court yourself to see if he has other things on his record that he is not telling you.

He is not accepting responsibilities or acting like he is ready to set down. Ask yourself "Can I deal with this if things do not change for the next 5 years?" If the answer is no, then reconsider all of your options and figure out what is best for you! It could be one of the hardest decision you will have to make.

Don't know how old you are but it seems that you're just having a run of bad luck at that time of year. I wouldn't think anything of it unless it happens on purpose. But if you're broke you can still make something out of the evening, just use your imagination.
