Hey....the 80's were my times. Wear funky stuff. Like straight leg jeans tucked into high heeled boots.....A big white button up shirt not tucked in with a vest that is very decorative. Or you could go the leg warmer look. Wear them with a huge shirt that goes down to your thighs. You have to have colored tights under all of this. Maybe a belt with this also. Lots of flashy jewelery. Blue eyeshadow. Well, you wear this if your a girl......for a guy you could wear a loud color suit with a different loud color shirt and a brim hat with a band. No tie with the shirt and left unbuttoned half way down. Or you could go the basketball player look, get short terry cloth shorts, the kind with a white trim around the legs, a t shirt and socks with the colored ring around the top. They used to be called tube socks. And wear terry cloth wrist bands. Maybe a head band too. Hope this helps alittle. (My husband still teases me to this day on how I used to dress.....I really went for the funky look....you should see me now! Sweats are really comfortable! LOL)

If you need good examples of 80's styles, rent the movie "The Wedding Singer"...there's some GREAT examples!! Remember big hair...as high as you can get it...you can also cut the neck & sleeves off a sweatshirt (not the whole sleeve...leave a little bit) & cut slits in the sleeves and the sides of the shirt & wear a tank underneath, pulling the neckhole over one shoulder. Either a mini jean skirt with ankle boots will do or very VERY tight jeans tucked into boots or go with the Madonna look & do socks with lace around the tops and pumps.

I have a friend who recently went to an 80's party and wanted to do something different - she ended up dressing up as Tammy Faye Baker. It was a GREAT look. She found pics on the internet from the 80's, wore an outfit that looked like one TFB might wear (big shoulder pads included) and poofed her hair all out and put on a ton of eye makeup and made it run down her face. Too funny, and perfect!

Parachute pants/ straight sided mini skirt. Lacy top or a sweatshirt inside out with the collar cut so that it sits on the shoulders. If you are wearing a jacket, it has to have shoulder pads. If you are wearing the mini skirt, wear leg warmers with a pump. Let the bottom of the leg warmer stay out of the shoe. Cut finger lacy gloves in black. BIG hair and raccoon eyes. Lots of beads for necklaces, maybe wear a rosary as a necklace. Black skinny rubber bracelets.
Have fun.

Big hair, big shoulders (shoulder pads), were big in the 80s. Check out Madonna videos like Like a Virgin, or TV shows like Dynasty and Dallas.

80s clothes! if you're a girl, off the shoulder sweat shirt, side pony tail with crimped hair....leggings, sweat band, all in obnoxious hot/neon colors. these parties are so fun! If you're a dude, wear a fake mullet or slick your hair back, tight light colored jeans and a cutoff tshirt. or the patrick swazy type button downs with the top buttons left undone...tucked in of course!

Cobalt blue on anything, cars, shoes, handbags.
Anything Princess Di wore in her old pictures
Anything Cher wore on her old pictures.
Wait, wasnt that the time when bustiers went into fashion, wearing underwear out over your clothes? The Madonna years.
