Just curious as to where, and why, you are suppose to be on one side or the other. Does he or she belong on your right or left side when in bed, or walking down the street, or seated at a table. Which side is correct and in which situation?

It's just personal preference.

My boyfriend sleeps on the left side... I'm not really sure why... it's just the way it is. We've slept in a few beds and he's always been in the left side of all of them. 2 of the beds he was on the left side because it was up against the wall and he likes to sleep against the wall and the other one was near the window... walking down the street or sitting at a table doesn't make a difference, but if we're at a booth across from other people I just wanna sit nearest to the wall... It's not really any set rule like others have said... just wherever we feel more comfortable.

There's no right or wrong side, but I've heard that statistics show that 90 percent of men sleep on the side that is to the left when you are standing at the foot of the bed looking toward the head of the bed. Been in a couple of meetings where they asked, then announced the findings from the room and then announced the statistic, and it seems it may be the case that men tend to sleep on this side. Don't know why they would, though.

It depends on your choice and who gets their seat first.

For the bed I prefer the side that is not so cold/drafty. It's been said that the man should sleep closest to the door to protect the woman in case there's an intruder. Walking down the street, the man should walk closest to the road; again to protect her from the traffic. At a table he should give her the seat that has the better view, less drafty/cold or more comfortable.

I think it's personal preference where men sleep or sit at a table. As to walking down the street, it was proper for the man to walk on the street side of the sidewalk. In the olden days of horses and buggies, the reason was to protect the woman from getting splashed by the buggies when they hit puddles in the dirt streets.
Today, my husband insists on walking on the street side. Just his protective nature I guess.

You sleep under she sleeps on top of you LOL So she'll enjoy it better.

Women should always be at the right side, like Jesus sat on the right side of His Father! It gives them importance and bearing.
Now if you're on a sidewalk you're siupposed to be outside.i.e., close to the street and she-inside- to protect her from harm. When a car gets in the curb you die firstLOL get it?
When you cross a two way street, you first walk in front of the cars she on the protected side, then when you cross then you move on the same side-again she will be in the protected side. Again,if a truck loses its brakes you die first.
Going up the elevator-she first then you follow(so you can watch her behind LOL)Going down you go first she behind you( so you can feel her boobs)
There are a thousand more but bottomline is "You are a gentleman, you are stronger -then you protect a loved one-not only you're woman but also your children."

Now if you fool around which side of the bed should be yours?
The one near the lawn that says DOGGIE!

Side of the bed is personal preference but I think there is some opinion that the man should be closest to the door (in case of intruders, fire, etc). When walking on the street, the man should be closest to the traffic in order that when/if the "horses" clop in a puddle, it is the man's outerwear that is soiled, not his lovely companion's! Today, when sitting and enjoying a drink in a local tavern, the man situates himself facing toward the door in order to best see when his enemies arrive. This is so charming!

I have a rule that my side of the bed is a 6 inch radios from any place I am on the bed. I take up less then 50% when I do that so my girl can have the rest of it. She thinks that is not right and disagrees with me. She shows this by sleeping on my dang side of the bed all the time. She calls it "snuggling with you." I call it being on my dang side of the bed when I am trying to sleep.
Oh women Mars, man Venus thing. I just wish all people would follow all my rules.

I guess it's all depend in the occasion or incident. In my culture men were thought that if you are crossing the street and you are with a woman, your side should be where the vehicles is coming
to protect them. In some other case woman should always be on the right side of a man.

In most cases men sleep near the door, a sign to protect the woman. When walking down the street, the man hgas to be near the road than the woman. LOL

Depends which you prefer. Historically it was considered in some places polite for the guy to walk on the outside of the pavement (closest to the road) so that his lady was protected from mud splashes etc. Also it was polite for the gentleman to allow the lady to proceed first in most situations except going down stairs because if she were to trip on the stairs, he could catch her. I don't think people care much these days.
