I remember something about adding .9 degrees to the final reading, but I can't remember if it was true or not. Does anybody else know?

you have to add one degree to whatever the final(axillary) temperature reading is. the reason for that is that for whatever reason the underarm temperature reads a degree less than a rectal temp(the most accurate) so to get an accurate temp (one that would be the same as the rectal temp) you need to add one degree. hope that helps :)

You need to get her to the doctor! Everything I have heard is that you add 2 degrees to the temp if taken under arm. That would put your little girl at 105.4 which could be very dangerous. Give her tylenol, strip her down to almost nothing and take her to the ER

If you can take a rectal temperature you will get the most accurate reading.
